The Independent ran an article this week examing why the numbers of young people choosing to pursue higher education in England has fallen off a cliff since COVID. Many universities are warning that demand for higher education could fall by around 20 per cent from 2030 to 2040. Should Univesties be opening up more to encourage talent from wider areas of our society, rather than recruiting exclusively from the middle class enclaves as they traditonally do? Do employers need to get better at accessing and leveraging the Apprenticeship levy more effectively? Do we all need to listen more to what young people want from their education and careers aspiriations? On any of these fronts - follow us and/or contact us to explore how DeepLearn® and our focus on Human Science is transforming the way we understand and engage with talent. #EthicalAI #talentdevelopment #careertransition #education #Yondur https://lnkd.in/etVA9GVc

About us
Enable Organisations. Empower People. At Deep Learn® Human Science (DeepLearnHS), we are on a mission to transform how human potential is understood, nurtured, and unlocked. Drawing from over a decade of global experience in AI and People Analytics, we are reshaping the systems and processes that guide people from education to careers, ensuring they reflect the modern world and the unique contributions of every individual. For too long, the traditional path of school > higher education > CV > job application > interview > appraisal > promotion has defined how we view and value human potential. While the world has changed dramatically, these systems have not kept pace. They often overlook talent, enforce outdated paradigms, and create barriers that prevent many from making meaningful contributions to society. This must change. We face major challenges—local and global skills shortages, the rise of AI and automation, and the persistence of bias in recruitment and workforce planning. At DeepLearnHS, we believe it’s time for a paradigm shift in how we understand, develop, and manage people. Our Commitments: Eliminate Bias: We aim to remove discrimination and bias by assessing people based on their skills, talents, and traits—not on outdated perceptions or categories. Influence Change: We work with governments, businesses, and institutions to promote policies and systems that prioritize ethical AI, lifelong learning, diversity, and inclusive workforce planning. Balance STEM and Creativity: We are rethinking education to restore a healthy balance between technical skills and human sciences, fostering resilience, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Powered by DeepLearn® Technologies Our proprietary technologies align education, training, and career development into a seamless, fair, and smarter journey. By leveraging data-driven insights, we provide a holistic understanding of talent that benefits both individuals and organizations.

What do you think the biggest challenge we face in managing our global workforce is today? At the heart of all the challenges is the need to understand and embrace human skills and potential at the centre of our workplace ecosystem. That's why we're dedicated to providing answers to these challenges and turning them into human opportunities. The global labour market is undergoing unprecedented shifts driven by automation, globalisation, and demographic changes. The demand for human-centric skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity is rapidly increasing, with surveys showing that up to 69% of business leaders value these over technical proficiencies alone. Despite this, education and workforce development systems remain fragmented and ill-equipped to meet this challenge. The Skills Gap Crisis Research from the World Economic Forum (2020) predicts that by 2025, 85 million jobs may be displaced due to automation, but 97 million new roles requiring reskilled and upskilled workers will emerge. However, a McKinsey report (2022) highlights that over 40% of employers report skill shortages that hinder their capacity to innovate and grow. UK Context In the UK, 9.7 million people lack access to meaningful career guidance (Demos, 2023), while education systems disproportionately focus on STEM subjects without integrating critical human skills. Surveys by the British Chambers of Commerce reveal that 53% of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) struggle to find employees with sufficient problem-solving and communication skills. Global Best Practices Countries such as Finland and Singapore have embedded human skills training into their national curriculums, focusing on collaboration, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. These systems serve as models, demonstrating the value of holistic education frameworks that integrate human and technical skills. The Irreplaceability of Human Skills While automation excels at tasks requiring precision and consistency, it cannot replicate empathy, creativity, or contextual judgment. A report by PwC (2022) found that 44% of global CEOs view human skills as critical for navigating technological transformations. Interconnected Challenges From climate change to global health crises, addressing complex problems requires collective, interdisciplinary approaches. Human skills enable individuals and teams to collaborate across sectors, fostering innovation and resilience. Hybrid Work and the Role of Soft Skills The shift to hybrid work models demands higher levels of adaptability, digital communication, and emotional intelligence to maintain productivity and well-being across distributed teams (Harvard Business Review, 2022). We can help you equip your business with the necessary skills and team culture to meet today's workforce challenges. Contact us today 📸 by Ryoji Iwata (Unsplash)
