New research from Depaul International published today shows Ukrainians fleeing the frontline are ending up on the streets. The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has led to a sharp rise in #homelessness, with almost a quarter of those sleeping rough becoming homeless as a direct consequence of being displaced during the conflict. The report, which is the most comprehensive look at homelessness in Ukraine to date, calls for the need to improve access to existing services for people sleeping rough and to ensure availability of housing as a priority. At Depaul, the wellbeing of our staff and clients is incredibly important. That's why we set up the Depaul mental health and wellbeing working group. The group brings together staff from seven countries who share learning about how to maintain staff and client wellbeing. Last week, the group hosted their first webinar on vicarious trauma, giving staff an opportunity to share their own experiences. The webinar marked the start of an international conversation about this important topic. #TimeToTalkDay

We are proud to present our Dax Employment Evaluation Report: Making It Work, Homeless Students Balancing School, Work, and Survival. From celebrating milestones to hosting workshops, October has been a busy month across the Depaul Group. Here's how our teams across the globe have been making a difference: 🖼️Clients from Depaul Slovensko, n.o.'s St Louise shelter and housing programme continued their regular visits to the Slovak National Gallery. In January, they took part in a printing workshop at the gallery. 🌎Staff from Depaul International and Depaul USA presented at the International Journal on Homelessness (IJOH) conference, a global knowledge exchange about how to prevent, reduce and end #homelessness. The conference was co-hosted by the Ruff Institute of Global Homelessness (IGH) . 🪴Depaul Croatia celebrated their collaboration with INA's Green Belt programme. Through participation in the programme, Depaul Croatia's H-Garden has flourished, enabling those experiencing #homelessness to learn gardening skills. Thank you to our brilliant staff and volunteers who make this work possible👏

When young people become #homeless, they often don't know where to turn for support. At Depaul, we intervene early to prevent people from becoming #homeless. To do so, Depaul UK runs education workshops for young people in schools. Through the interactive workshops, young people learn key messages about youth homelessness, healthy relationships, exploitation and responding to risks. #InternationalDayOfEducation

I'm at the International Journal on Homelessness (IJOH) this week, alongside others working to end #homelessness across the globe. It was great to share with colleagues a project we're working on that will improve our outcome measurement at Depaul. Looking forward to the next few days of making new connections and sharing learning about what works to prevent, reduce and end homelessness worldwide. #IJOHConf25
