Earlier this year our team was delighted to throw their wardrobe doors wide open for a brilliant initiative run by NHP (National House Project), an organisation that supports young people leaving care to create their own homes and live connected and fulfilling lives. The Don't Panic Culture Club ran a clothing drive for our team and neighbouring businesses and Sarah Williams our Operations Manager was able to deliver donations for the July Clothing Event. Following up on our Sports Day post yesterday and with reward and recognition always on our minds we reflect on the importance of shining a spotlight on the North. Celebrating the success of individuals and teams across the region, wherever they are on their journey, is important to raise the profile of northern talents on both a national and international stage. Our somewhat belated congratulations go to our northern Olympians, who showed just how proud we can be of where come from and live, and how much can be achieved if we put our minds to something and be brilliant. We can't all be sports superstars, but we can all be stars! Inspired by Bryony Page OLY, @Keely Hodgkinson, Kieran Reilly, Tom Pidcock, Caden Cunningham, and Katerina Johnson-Thompson and all the other Northern athletes that took part in this year's Paris Olympics.

We didn't make the Olympics but... The Don't Panic sportsmen, women, children and animals took to the athletic field at Nuttall Park on Friday for our annual Sports Day Split into three teams representing the home nations of England, Scotland and Wales events included: the much coveted Egg & Spoon Race, Tug of War, Relay, Wheelbarrow and 100m Sprint. In a controversial photo finish for the Sack Race, judges finally announced Emily May as the winner by a leg stretch. Overall Team Winners were: Scotland by an absolute landslide! Congratulations to James Harding, Lucie Wright, Yi Zhen Leong, George, Aoife, Eli and Lola the dog! Awards whatever they are, show commitment, perseverance and excellence. To all those who took part 'Go Team!'
