For those that missed it, emsurge is now live in #Biodiversity. The more I research #biodiversitycredits, the more I am convinced that establishing #Biodiversity as an asset class is imperative if we are to solve the climate crisis. Left unchecked, biodiversity loss will be a major driver of climate change as our damaged ecosystems transform carbon sinks to carbon sources. Biodiversity credits vary but consensus is moving towards a unit being the change in nature integrity within a hectare over a defined period in time. Biodiversity credits can be stacked on #carboncredits for additional assurances of environmental impact, or used in their own right for those companies who want to be #naturepositive. We launch with forward Cercarbono biodiversity credits from Savimbo, who are representing #indigenouspeoples, protecting the Amazon in #Colombia (see image). We are also working with carbon project developers running biodiversity pilots with Verra and Plan Vivo Foundation.
