About us
At Enginuity, we believe that UK engineers can change the world, given the opportunity. The UK has an engineering and manufacturing skills gap, and rapidly changing challenges and technologies make it even harder for employers to identify and find the right skills at the right time. That's why our charitable objectives are based on supporting the UK’s engineering and manufacturing sector to adapt to the challenges it faces today.

Thoroughly enjoyed delivering the key note address at the Leeds Manufacturing Festival launch event at Leeds City College. Our message to government is loud and clear: SMEs are the lifeblood of UK Manufacturing. It was a real privilege to outline the challenges SMEs face when it comes to workforce development and investment in skills, and to discuss where we think government and business need to shift their focus to deliver economic growth. Very humbling to join a panel of such inspirational people. Cameron Pinder was the absolute highlight - it’s impossible to walk away from hearing him speak without a complete belief in the transformative power of WorldSkills UK and feeling so very impressed by the new generation of talent in our sector. Amanda McLaren presentation inspired and motivated the whole room. So often my work focuses on the challenges for SMEs, so listening to her outline the incredible work AW Hainsworth do to be an employer of choice was really uplifting. I left feeling more hopeful than when I arrived. Huge thanks to David Baggaley for the invite and Fiona M. for the introducing me to such a powerful community. Thank you to my fellow panel members Chris Black (Sound Leisure Ltd, West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce), Matt Booth (E3R) Hannah Wilson (UTC Leeds) and Mark Casci for being a wonderful host. A Guiding light in the #warfortalent - Great to catch up again with Hayyaan Bashir - NextGen Programme Officer from ABFE today Hayyaan is doing brilliant work to help students to transition into the world of work. ABFE has established an extensive network of connections across leading UK universities and with other strategic partners such as Enginuity and Gattaca to actively bring together candidates and prospective employers across the STEM field. Hayyan and i discussed the challenges that candidates and employers, face including some of the do's and donts for candidates who are looking for work and similarly some of the mistakes that employers may make when trying to attract top talent too. If you know a student that's currently studying STEM who would benefit from some great advice and insights on how to secure that top job, the good news is that ABFE is holding an event later this month in conjunction with Babcock International Group and University of the West of England. By attending this event, candidates will gain practical insights, including "mock" interviews and group assessment practice.
