We might need a trophy cabinet if we keep this up! It was a rewarding weekend for everyone who played in The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice 5’s tournament on Sunday! Our team dedicated a few hours to raise funds for the incredible work the hospice carries out and even brought back a win, led by our Chief Operating Officer Bobby McDonald IEng, a long-time supporter of the charity. We look forward to continuing our team fundraising efforts for local charities throughout 2025!

Work has started on site in Grimsby! We've partnered with Envevo Ltd for installation of our charging infrastructure across the UK. This marks the beginning of a wider rollout as part of our involvement in the Zen Freight consortium, with chargers also set for Killingholme, Sandhills and Simonswood during Q1 and Q2 of 2025—plus more locations to follow!   This investment is a key part of our commitments to decarbonisation, proving that traditional diesel trucks can be replaced by eHGVs. By working closely with OEMs and fleet operators, we're gathering real-world data to shape the future of sustainable freight in the UK.   Our partnership with Envevo began in Q2 last year with funding allocated for five eTrucks and their charging infrastructure. Now, with further approval from IUK, we aim to expand our electric fleet with 10 more electric trucks and additional charging points across the UK. We are proud to see our installation site, Northfleet School for Girls, spotlighted by Future of Roads Minister Lilian Greenwood as the minister announced that the Workplace Charging Scheme For State Funded Education Institutions has been extended until March 2026. This grant extension follows the exciting news of over 1,400 EV charging sockets installed at schools and colleges across the UK, underscoring the importance of enhancing EV charging infrastructure in the education sector. We are pleased to announce we are on site for the first of many projects we are delivering in partnership with DFDS as part of the Zen Freight 2.0 programme. These projects are integral to the broader ZEHID programme, which focuses on decarbonising heavy goods vehicles in the UK. This programme is expected to significantly impact sustainable transport by offering various incentives and support to encourage the adoption of zero-emission technologies. The creation of a reliable, easily accessible shared charging infrastructure is central to this programme's objectives. It aims to facilitate the transition to zero-emission HGVs, thereby contributing to a more sustainable future for freight transport. The importance of this initiative cannot be overstated, as it marks a critical step towards reducing the carbon footprint of the transport industry. We take pride in our pivotal role, providing comprehensive services alongside key industry players. Our contributions include new grid connections, full turnkey installations, and ongoing maintenance to ensure seamless operation and maximum efficiency. Spiral Renewables are thrilled to announce that we have landed a new contract for 2 new Hyper-charging hubs. Featuring a minimum of 3 x 480kW Project EV Hyper charging units with Dual CCS capabilities, complete with overhead illuminated canopies and a remote store ordering system. The sites that both service major routes already have fantastic amenities making them perfect locations for people to charge in a safe, welcoming environment fit for single travellers or families. The sites we're specifically selected by the customer after the extensive feasibility studies undertaken by Spiral Renewables Both sites shall be powered by new 11kV Substation's installed by Envevo Ltd that are specifically sized to handle the loads that these incredible chargers require. This means that they will require no load management in peak or busy periods allowing customers to take the full charging power their vehicles request. Phil N. Wrapping up the week on a high note with incredible progress at our First Bus Caledonia Depot site in Glasgow ⚡ ! As the principal contractor, we are thrilled to announce the successful installation of a locally sourced steel gantry system, a pivotal step towards the next phase of electrifying the depot. This milestone is a testament to the skills and dedication of our team and partners.
