Zora Neale Hurston, a celebrated author and anthropologist, saw research as more than just collecting facts, it’s about pursuing deeper understanding. Her work explored the untold stories of African American culture, blending academic rigour with a passion for uncovering hidden truths. Hurston’s approach emphasised curiosity as a tool for challenging norms and driving social progress. Her words remind us to go beyond simple learning, ask bold questions, and seek knowledge with intention and purpose. Whether in academics or personal growth, it’s a call to be fearless in our pursuit of truth. #ZoraNealeHurston #Leadership #Inclusion #ContinuousLearning #LearningandDevelopment #ZoraHurstonQuote #BHM #LearningQuote #InspirationalQuote

In the last quarter of 2023 in the UK alone, the disability employment gap was 27.9%. This is even higher when it comes to the marked lack of disability visibility in leadership roles. Redressing the absence of meaningful disability representation in senior roles across our organisations is vital if we are to embrace true inclusivity. Nicholas Delasi Zikpi joins Minaxi Mistry in her latest Kitchen Convos where he shares his personal journey as a Black man navigating workplace dynamics. He shared a pivotal moment when a former manager, despite having good intentions, addressed him with slang and stereotypes based on assumptions about his identity. This experience left him feeling singled out and misunderstood, demonstrating the need for cultural intelligence and deeper awareness in the workplace. He highlighted the importance of creating environments where people can show up authentically without fear of being reduced to stereotypes. He also stressed that self-care plays a crucial role in his journey, sometimes it’s about taking the time to rest, reflect and recharge, so we can continue advocating for more inclusive and understanding spaces. #DiversityEquityandInclusion #NicholasDelasiZikpi #CQ #CulturalIntelligence #SelfCare #InclusiveWorkplace #ChaiandChat #BHM #BlackHistoryMonth
