Supported by our supplier members and partners, we work on behalf of tour operators, wholesalers, destination management companies and agents to enable a sustainable business environment in which European tourism can thrive and grow. We design and deliver online and face-to-face events for members and partners, driven by our own appointment matching system. We lobby on behalf of our members and participate in public-private projects at EU, national and local levels, capitalising on our wide network among origin and destination markets.

ETOA - European tourism association’s #Amsterdam working group met yesterday, kindly hosted by our member, Grand Café Restaurant 1e Klas. We were joined by colleagues from the city’s policy team to share perspectives and explore new ways of collaborating with the travel trade as a new strategy for the visitor economy evolves. What would good look like in 2030? For 2025, members reported a decline in numbers in the MICE sector as well as international leisure, with the 12.5% #tourismtax cited as a competitive disadvantage, set to worsen in 2026 when full-rate VAT will apply to accommodation. There is plenty to work on together - from attractions and ticketing to city access. Product managers need to know what they can offer that isn’t subject to unacceptable business risk. The travel trade wants to add value, not take chances. To be continued!
