Last week, F P Hurley staff attended the BESA Annual Conference held in London, where our Managing Director and BESA President, Adrian Hurley, had the esteemed privilege of opening the event. This annual gathering is of tremendous importance to professionals in the building services sector, providing a platform for discussion, knowledge sharing, and collaboration and networking.   Several team members from F P Hurley were present, immersing themselves in a range of insightful talks focused on key industry areas for building services in the construction industry. The conference highlighted critically important topics including building safety, competence, compliance, skills development, AI, and the journey towards achieving net zero targets, which are fast approaching. A highlight for Adrian Hurley was his participation on a panel discussing Net Zero– Building a Better Tomorrow Today. Each session offered valuable insights that are essential for our ongoing commitment to sustainability, excellence and innovation in the industry.   We are grateful for the opportunity to attend such an impactful event, and we look forward to applying the insights gained to our work at F P Hurley. A heartfelt thank you to BESA Group for organising this wonderful conference and to all the key note speakers and attendees who contributed to the success of the day.

🌟 Exciting Beginnings at Paddock School, Tooting 🌟 We're thrilled to announce that our journey has officially begun at the new SEN (Special Educational Needs) school located on Broadwater Road in Tooting, London✨ This fantastic project, commissioned by Wandsworth Borough Council, involves both the renovation of an existing listed building and the construction of a new extension. Our main contractor, Willmott Dixon, is committed to delivering a state-of-the-art learning environment that embodies inclusivity and support for all students. With a projected completion date of September 2025, our scope of works encompasses a range of critical installations, ensuring the school will be fully equipped to meet the unique needs of its future students. This includes: • Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) • Boosted cold water supply systems • Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) heating and cooling solutions • Radiant panels • Electric water heaters • Comprehensive drainage and sanitaryware installations • Innovative windcatchers, Natural Ventilation Heat Recovery (NVHR), and Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) units • Ductwork • Fire/smoke dampers • A/C cooling • Internal rainwater installation The integration of a new extension into the existing listed building presents unique challenges, but we are dedicated to preserving its historical significance while providing modern, adaptable spaces for education. 🏛️💡 We can't wait to see this project come to life over the next year and ultimately provide an inspiring learning environment for the children of Tooting. Stay tuned for updates as we progress on this incredible journey! 🚀

Last week, members of our team took to the streets of Lockleaze in Bristol for a litter pick, and we were proud of the impact we made. The litter pick was organised as part of the social value delivery on University of the West of England District Heating Scheme project, and included members of our site team, social value team and Bristol office staff. The team rolled up their sleeves and got to work, and several members of the community stopped to thank us for our efforts. Additionally, special thanks to The Bristol Waste Company for their support in providing bags and facilitating waste collection.
