We were delighted to welcome over 50 pupils to North Lanarkshire Council’s careers event yesterday. The morning session was for Pathways students who are leaving school at Christmas and are looking for work in construction. The Pathways programme provides young people with employability support, vocational qualifications, and work experience. In the afternoon session we welcomed pupils from eight high schools in the North Lanarkshire area. Thanks to our Training Manager, Kenny Stewart and our Group Bid Manager, Laura McFadden for delivering the sessions on CV writing and interview skills along with apprenticeship information. #ScotCareersWeek24

Now handed over to Clyde Gateway, the D2 GRIDs project (Green Regeneration Innovation District). Home to a 5th generation heating and cooling network – a highly optimized, demand-driven, self-regulating energy management system for urban areas. D2 GRIDs uses energy that would otherwise be wasted, from Scottish Water’s wastewater plant in Dalmarnock, and transports it 1.2km to our new Energy Centre at Shawfield in Glasgow to supply the new district heating network. We’re supporting Scottish Careers Week (11-15th November) with the following school engagement sessions: St Mungo’s – 5th November Wallace High – 12th November Good Shepherd – 14th November St Modan’s – 19th November Pupils will hear from our Training Manager, Kenny Stewart, about the career pathways available to them, including apprenticeships and graduate traineeships with FES Group. Events such as these help show pupils more options and decide on their preferred route after school, when the time comes.
