We learned yesterday that our recent fundraising efforts raised an amazing £8,520 in total, with £3,000 of that figure attributed to our Lee Davidson's head-shave and the remainder from our team's Kelpies abseil. We couldn't be more proud! And we are over the moon that this total will go to such a fantastic cause : The Beatson Cancer Charity. We had set ourselves a target of £10,000 raised in the YEAR - and we've achieved more than 85% of that figure in just our first two events and in our first two months! We must thank the incredible support received from everyone who donated, from the amazing staff at the Beatson under the caring watch of Charlene Low - and of course to the brave colleagues that gave up their time (and their hair!) to get so wholeheartedly involved. Thank you, thank you, thank you; from the bottom of our hearts 💛🖤. #cancer #charity #teamwork #betterbuildingservices

Today is a bittersweet day as we say goodbye and thank you to one of the most respected and experienced members of the PREAH team, Alex "Eck" Thorpe, who retires today. Eck, one of our Approved Electricians, has been a true character in the trade, and a vital part of our Electrical Team over the past year, working closely with colleagues Ross Johnston, Lee Davidson, and Mark Pate. One of Eck’s proudest moments has been his role in mentoring Mark, guiding him through his apprenticeship. It's only fitting that today, Mark's eligibility letter was signed to allow him to sit his trade test and become an electrician in his own right - a full circle moment that reflects the lasting impact Eck has made in this young man's career, as he steps down from his own. We had the pleasure of gathering in the office to bid Eck farewell, where he was presented with cards, gifts, and a cake (and a few, rare, rays of sunshine!). Eck treated us to an impromptu but heartfelt reading of a poem he had written, including the poignant lines: "I've lasted so long because my work pals have been good pals.", and, "Thanks again, PREAH, for rounding off my long career." Eck, you will be greatly missed. We wish you all the best in your well-deserved retirement - enjoy the next adventure! #Retirement #ElectricalExcellence #Mentorship #BetterBuildingServices

Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we want to recognise someone who truly embodies the spirit of dedication, leadership, and positivity— Eileen MacQuarrie Eileen isn’t just a PA to the directors at PREAH Building Services—she’s a driving force behind so much of what we do. A true go-getter, she takes ownership of key projects and delivers them with precision, passion, and a positive attitude. Some of her standout contributions include: ✅ Leading the drafting of all new employment contracts for over 100 staff. ✅ Managing the procurement of our new 30-van fleet from start to finish. ✅ Organising charity fundraising events in partnership with Beatson Cancer Charity. ✅ Securing Capex funding from North Lanarkshire Council. ✅ Running PREAH’s marketing and social media presence (though she definitely didn’t know about this post 😜) Beyond all of that, Eileen brings an energy to the office that makes every day better. She’s a proud advocate for the work we do, always pushing PREAH forward with enthusiasm and a can-do mindset. Her positivity is contagious, and we’re lucky to have her on our team! Thank you, Eileen, for everything you do. You’re an absolute star! #IWD2025 #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInBusiness #Leadership #TeamPREAH

At PREAH, we care about the wellbeing of our team and our local community, which is why it gives us great pleasure to share that we recently installed a defibrillator at the entrance to our HQ office situated on the first floor of Campbell House, Greenside Road, Newhouse Industrial Estate near Hoytown, Motherwell. This important piece of equipment is now available for anyone to use in case of an emergency. Heart disease is the number one cause of death globally and, in the workplace, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can strike without warning. Around 70% of SCA victims collapse without any prior symptoms. The faster a defibrillator is used, the higher the chance of survival and when a defibrillator is used within the first 3 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates can increase by up to 70%. The construction industry has one of the highest rates of heart attacks and sudden cardiac events due to the demanding physical nature of the work. High stress, heavy lifting, and even extreme weather can all contribute to heart strain. Having a defibrillator nearby can literally save lives. According to the British Heart Foundation, nearly 30,000 people suffer from a sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital every year in the UK. Many of these incidents happen in public or workplace settings, highlighting the importance of having defibs available in as many locations as possible. We’re proud to take as many steps as we can to ensure safety and health in the workplace and not just for our team, but for everyone in the surrounding area. If anyone finds themselves in need, please do not hesitate - our defibrillator is here for you. #lifesaving #constructionsafety #healthatwork #betterbuildingservices

It's going to be difficult setting a new target on audit results when we've just been scored at 100% on renewal of our Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Quality Partner status!! How do we improve upon perfection? #niceproblemtohave A huge thanks goes to ALL of our dedicated workforce for everything they do, every single day. A special well done and thank you to Dean Little for project-managing this audit and to Steven John Bateman and his amazing team for their top-notch skill and workmanship on the installation that made this result possible. #teamwork #diamondquality #betterbuildingservices

He did it!!! What a hero our Lee Davidson is! Exactly one week after our team completed the Kelpies Challenge to help raise vital funds for The Beatson Cancer Charity, Lee has today shaved his head to further help this amazing cause. At the point of posting, Lee had already smashed his £1,000 target, bringing in more than double that figure, at £2,025 so far. Well done Lee!! If you would like to support Lee's efforts and give to The Beatson, you can do so via this link: https://lnkd.in/eT4iXS5V #cancercharity #hero #BetterBuildingServices

PREAH Building Services are delivering cutting-edge zero direct emissions heating solutions to Scotland’s National Retrofit Centre. The new system includes the PV-T high-efficiency solar panel which is an innovative combination of a conventional solar PV panel generating electricity combined with a matrix of pipework. The roof mounted PV-T panels are strategically mounted to maximise exposure to sunlight and will work in synergy with the ground and air source heat pump system.

What a fantastic day, for a fantastic cause, involving a fantastic bunch of people!! We're proud to have been the FIRST EVER company to complete the Kelpies Challenge : climbing and then abseiling 25 metres within the famous Scottish structure. Our Group Managing Director, Gerard Savage, was the first ever person to "jump" the Kelpies and we are SO PROUD of him and of every team member that participated. So far, PREAH has raised well over £4,000 for Beatson Cancer Charity. What a day! Our team did us proud 👏 Thank you to all who supported our efforts.
Today marks the first ever charity climb on The Kelpies Experience! 🐴🐴🧗♂️ PREAH Building Services are the first of the corporate groups here today raising funds in support of Beatson Cancer Charity 💛 Good luck team! #TheKelpiesExperience #BeatsonCancerCharity #PREAHBuildingServices #ZoneEvents #TheHorseBox Jono Buckland Ross McMillan Falkirk Council Andy Scott John Paterson Richard Millar Sarah Jane Hannah Amelia Morgan Maureen Campbell Carolyn Sawers Michelle Wailes Robin Strang Rob M.
