Robertson Construction Central West is gearing up to begin work on the £10m redevelopment of Citadel Leisure Centre at Ayr Harbour for South Ayrshire Council on behalf of Alliance Leisure. The Citadel, which welcomes around 300,000 visitors annually, will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment to address essential repairs and introduce exciting new facilities. The works, which start early next month, will enhance user experience and create an inviting play, sports and recreation destination for both residents and visitors. Our Regional Managing Director Andy McLinden says that, with end users in mind, we will deliver a “thriving community leisure hub that will promote accessible sport and physical activity opportunities for the local community and beyond”. This week Robertson Construction Yorkshire & East Midlands commenced works on a £25m state-of-the-art endoscopy unit for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  The endoscopy unit puts Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at the forefront of patient care, creating a world class facility in West Yorkshire.   According to Saj Azeb, Chief Operating Officer for the Trust, the new unit will provide more capacity and a much-improved environment to provide the best possible care and service to patients.  Jonathan Sizer, Regional Managing Director, Robertson Construction Yorkshire & East Midlands, says that the project is “testament to the Trust’s commitment to patient care and service improvement, and as delivery partner of choice we’ll uphold those values in the build process.”    With a long history of delivering high quality healthcare projects, a complex scheme like this plays very much to our strengths; delivering for the customer, working with the local community and supporting the supply chain in the region. Work is underway for a new Extra Care 95-home scheme in Hebburn town centre, led by Robertson Construction North East for Karbon Homes and South Tyneside Council.     Consisting of 75 one-bed and 20 two-bed apartments, the development will benefit from multi-use spaces for activities and a bistro café which will be open to the public. There will be 17 apartments specifically designed to meet the needs of people with dementia.    Joined by Zoey Hawthorne and Cllr Ruth Berkley at the groundbreaking, our Regional Managing Director Neil Kennedy said: “This project perfectly aligns with our values of creating positive social impact through construction and building environments that improve lives. Robertson Construction North East has been working with Newcastle-based kids' charity Children North East (CNE) for almost twenty years, led by our Business Development Director Martin Westgate. Tens of thousands of pounds has been raised to help CNE make 'life-changing differences for babies, children and young people'. When they came to us to see if we could help make the outdoor space at their Parenting Hub more usable, our team and supply chain jumped at the chance. Congratulations to Neil Kennedy who has been appointed regional managing director for the North East arm of Robertson Construction. He’s been with the company for over 15 years, and his promotion comes following the retirement of Garry Hope. His diverse portfolio of projects ranges across numerous sectors including education (primary, secondary, and higher education projects), retail, health (primary care and acute), leisure, commercial, industrial, hospitality, student accommodation and residential. In recent years he’s worked on such notable projects as the fast-track construction of the Day Treatment Centre at Freeman Hospital, the Melia hotel at Newcastle Quayside and the Smokehouses residential development of apartments in North Shields. Speaking on his appointment, Neil said: “Robertson Construction North East is going from strength to strength having built a reputation for repeat business and excellent quality. The Alfred dunhill Links Championship tees off today at the globally famous Old Course in St Andrews, where Robertson Construction Tayside completed the refurbishment and extension of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews’ Clubhouse earlier this year. The works tripled the basement space, creating new female and male locker rooms and a heritage members’ lounge. Other changes included improvements to the concierge area, new benching, racking for golf trolleys, showers and toilets. Our Regional Managing Director Kevin Dickson said: “Understanding users’ needs and priorities alongside honouring the legacy of R&A was crucial with this project.
