Every year, the Fibe team and our friends gather for a day of farm work at our annual harvest. It’s a great opportunity to get stuck into the agricultural side of things. Here are a few snapshots from our past harvests!

Last month was a busy and exciting time for Fibe! We had the opportunity to exhibit at Potato Days UK 2024, where our CTO, David, gave a fantastic talk. We were also delighted to participate in Potato Europe in France - take a look at these photo highlights from both events!

We are excited to share that Fibe's first potato-based yarn is being displayed at the Design Museum in London as part of their free Tomorrow's Wardrobe exhibition. Come give us a visit on the second floor - we are there until August 2025!

Since closing our pre-seed round earlier this year, we have expanded our team to 17 engineers, biochemists and farmers. Here is a preview of our latest photoshoot! At PANGAIA, we are committed to fostering innovation and sustainability in the industry. For the third consecutive year, we have teamed up with Fashion District - London to support their Manufacturing Futures Innovation Challenge. This annual challenge is dedicated to finding groundbreaking solutions to our industry's complex issues. This year, the competition received applications from innovators addressing: 🌿 The Materials we use  💻 The Systems we rely on ⛓ The Supply chain that supports us  👁 The Visibility we have of our products and materials  🔁 The Lifecycle of our products A few weeks ago, 10 finalists had just 20 minutes each to pitch their innovations to the judges, followed by canapés, drinks, speeches, and networking at an awards ceremony. Congratulations to Fibe, this year’s winner who presented their remarkable solution for transforming agricultural waste from the fifth most grown crop in the world into an alternative to cotton and bast fibers. Alante Portfolio Impact Highlight - Fibe: That’s right. We make clothes from potato crop waste “We make sustainable fibers for textiles out of potato waste. Our material uses 99.7% less water, no additional land and produces 82% less CO2e than cotton. Let's make fashion better.” Fibe is a material science company developing a ground-breaking new fiber made from potato haulm (stem) waste that has the look, feel, and performance of cotton without the negative environmental and social impact. Leveraging an abundant waste stream, production requires 100% less land, generates 82% fewer GHG emissions, and uses 99.7% less water than conventionally grown cotton.
