Back to reality and back to work at Fife College Business, Digital and Creative after a fantastic 6 days working at SIAL Paris with Quality Meat Scotland It was a fantastic experience and a great opportunity to work with world class produce. Myself and Scott Lyall worked alongside students Chelsea and Leah from the HNC Professional cookery programme We were tasked with cooking samples of the Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specialty selected pork throughout the week. An evening meal and a canapé reception to showcase this produce. Working alongside Tom Gibson Gordon Newlands and Emma McGowan was fantastic and the experiences that the students gained from this trip will be invaluable for them moving forward in their culinary careers once they move on from college. They represented themselves extremely professionally and also Fife College communicating with the processors on the stand, visitors and all other dignitaries. Nothing better than getting to share student success. Media & Communications graduate Sharrell Carroll has been nominated for three entries at this year’s Student Radio Awards for work produced while studying at Fife College and presenting on Boom Radio, marking the station’s first-ever nominations. Fellow Fife College alum Megan Percival has also been nominated three times in the Best Presenter, Best Specialist Programming, and Best Entertainment Programming categories for their show All Things Alt. After graduating, Megan continued on to Sunderland University, where they now present on Spark FM. Winners will be announced on November 19th at the O2 in London. Some very proud lecturers today.
