Great news for the Energy sector! 🔋💡 These projects awarded in Allocation Round 6 will contribute significantly to the UK's energy security and to crucial to meeting the clean power goal by 2030. AR6 has been the most successful auction round to date and will cut consumer bills through increasing availability of cheap sustainable power. However, with more renewables in the system, we will need more low carbon flexible assets to support a decarbonised electricity system. The ADE is delighted to announce that today, we launch our two new missions!   ▶ Empowering Energy Demand ▶ Decarbonising British Heat   We have launched these Missions because action must be taken now if the UK has any chance of reaching its net zero targets without breaking the bank.   The two missions encapsulate solutions that can provide clean, cheap energy for the UK - we just need the transformational leadership from the Government to get us there. The Government has used its first few months in power to demonstrate their determination to deliver net zero, however, more is needed.   What do we want these missions to achieve?   Empowering Energy Demand involves embracing the value of a decarbonised, demand-led energy system, creating a future where households, businesses and industry are properly rewarded.   Decarbonising British Heat involves transforming how UK homes and businesses are heated, for a future where heat is secure, clean and drives economic growth.   The ADE and its members are already working hard to achieve this. Our flexibility services team had a fantastic time at The Flexibility Summit North West yesterday @ The Lowry in Salford. In collaboration with Flex Assure UK and National Grid ESO's Power Responsive team, we welcomed key Industrial & Commercial stakeholders from across the North West for a half day filled with roundtable discussions hosted by ENGIE,Flexitricity and CUB (UK) Ltd, panel Q&As and insightful presentations. Our Distribution System Operation (DSO) Commercial Lead, Paul George, provided an overview of our current requirements and explained how North West businesses can get started on their flexibility services journey to maximise revenue and provide energy security to the grid whilst helping them achieve their decarbonisation goals. We were delighted to welcome stakeholders from across the industrial and commercial sector for an afternoon filled with insightful presentations from key flexibility players including National Grid ESO, Electricity North West, Flex Assure UK and Flexitricity on guiding businesses how they can start engaging in flexibility services to optimise revenue, achieve sustainability goals as well as contributing to ensuring grid security The roundtable discussions from CUB (UK) Ltd , ENGIE UK and Flexitricity were also incredibly engaging and well-received by all attendees.
