Located at Minerva Way, Finnieston in Glasgow’s West End, Redevco and Swiss Finance & Property Group have secured planning consent for their 391-unit Minerva Way Build to Rent development, which has been designed to be one of Scotland's most sustainable residential developments. It was a pleasure working with our friends over at Cooper Cromar to create the planning imagery for this awesome project. Very much looking forward to seeing these images become a reality! It’s time to wrap up another year at Float. 🎉 Here are our three key takeaways of the year, but first a message of gratitude. To our talented staff - you are at the heart of what we do. Your creativity, innovation, and passion have propelled us forward, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together in 2024. We've expanded our reach to international frameworks, competed in new sectors and grown in size despite the ongoing challenges of a shifting and volatile market. Tough markets test everyone, but they also teach us the most and this year we faced challenges that required us to redefine our processes, embrace continuous learning, and stay resilient under pressure. 👊 This year has also seen a few accolades for us: 🏆 Won the Visualisation category for a record-breaking third year running at the Scottish Design Awards 🏅 Nominated for Studio of the Year at the Scottish Design Awards 🏅 Nominated for Technical Advisory Team of the Year at the Scottish Property Awards Every project has been an opportunity to learn, grow, and push boundaries and we’re hugely thankful for the ongoing trust and commitment of our clients, whose visions inspire us constantly. Among the many lessons we’ve learned this year, three stand out. ✅ The importance of adaptability. Adaptability isn’t just a survival skill—it’s a growth strategy for us. We learned that embracing change, whether it’s adopting new AI tools, rethinking collaboration workflows, or adjusting to client needs, has contributed to our evolution as a business. It’s how we keep our creativity sharp and our business competitive. ✅ The power of collaboration in achieving something truly extraordinary. Encouraging close collaboration with clients elevates the quality of our work and service. Many studios and artists claim to be collaborative but in reality, keep their clients at arm's length. We opt to stay as close as we can to our clients to offer them value from our process as well as our product. ✅ Visualisation is about crafting a story. When things get tough it’s tempting to prioritise speed or volume, but the most successful and rewarding projects come from focusing on quality and narrative. By dedicating time and energy to perfecting this, we’ve not only exceeded client expectations but also solidified our reputation for producing transformative visualisation. As always, we look forward to another year of meeting new challenges head-on, exploring fresh approaches, and continuing our ascension in the Scottish and UK markets. We are thrilled to see the first phase of the £1.3 billion Granton Waterfront regeneration project receive unanimous planning approval. It’s been a pleasure working on the planning CGIs for Cruden Group and The City of Edinburgh Council's latest vision for this landmark residential-led development located in north Edinburgh. Beautifully designed by award-winning architect Smith Scott Mullan, the area forms part of the Capital’s largest brownfield site, centred around the newly refurbished Gasholder, and will be transformed into an exciting new development of 847 net zero homes. The Float team collaborated closely on the CGIs to ensure we accurately captured the proposed vision. It's always great to see our visuals alongside the reality of what's been built and igloo Regeneration's Dundashill development is certainly living up to its potential with this beautifully landscaped sunken garden at the heart of the development.

It was a proud night for the Float team at last night’s Scottish Design Awards where we picked up the Visualisation Gold Award for a record-breaking third year running! Our entry for the Love Loan project presented the Float team with a fantastic opportunity to show off our capabilities with our client Chris Stewart Group who entrusted us to develop a captivating vision for the Lane and its interior spaces within a tight timescale.   Drawing on our design backgrounds, the team rose to the challenge and delivered a compelling set of visuals for this exciting new Glasgow city centre destination. We are delighted for our client Keppie Design that full planning approval was granted last week by North Lanarkshire Council for the Monklands Replacement Hospital Project a new state-of-the-art digital and Net Zero Hospital in Airdrie, which is set to be the most advanced in Scotland. Float has worked closely with the design team as the scheme has evolved and our CGIs have been used extensively for stakeholder engagement and to help secure planning permission.
