About us
Follow us for the latest news and information about our extraordinary district. Get in contact with us here ➡️ http://bit.ly/MyAccountFAQ Residents elect 30 councillors every four years and these councillors set the priorities for the district and make decisions, many of which are debated first at meetings that are open to the public. The day-to-day running of the council is managed by the chief executive and heads of departments and carried out by staff known as council officers. The priorities for 2017-2020 are: More homes: Provide and enable the right amount, type and range of housing More jobs: Work with businesses to provide jobs in a vibrant local economy Appearance matters: Provide an attractive and clean environment Health matters: Keep our communities healthy and safe Achieving stability: Achieve financial stability through a commercial and collaborative approach Delivering excellence: Deliver excellent customer service through commitment of staff and members You can find more details on these objectives and how they will be delivered at our website, under policies, plans and documents.

🗑️ Two residents who failed to clear a build-up of waste from their back garden – in breach of Community Protection Notices – have been fined. ❌ We tried to work with them but received no response despite various efforts, including final warnings. 🏘️ The waste was having a negative impact on neighbours in Lydd and so we were left with no option but to act ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ewVWufne

🐕 A dog walker who failed to clear up after a pet on a visit to The Warren has been fined. 👨⚖️ She was caught by an officer and – despite refusing to provide her details – later identified following investigation and found guilty in court. 💩 Dog fouling is deeply unpleasant. We hope this outcome will prove to be a valuable lesson ➡️ https://lnkd.in/en8M-fpZ
