It’s Trustees’ Week and we’re celebrating our trustees who dedicate their time to our charity’s board. Their support is vital in the running of our organisation, and they bring with them invaluable skills and insight along with an unwavering passion for the festival. In the past year we have welcomed our new chair, Karen Hall, who joined trustees Trish Dalby, Neil Porteous, Garry Taylor, Robert Pritchard, Sally Christopher and Louise Alford. We’re grateful for their commitment and want to say a huge thank for everything they do for our organisation. Nominations are open for the Benefact Group £5,000 special draw for charities in the arts and culture sector. As a local arts charity, £5,000 would enable us to invest in a local project, engaging people from our communities in the arts through participation and performance. This year, we worked with young people on the Orchard Park Estate on a project called CODE, ran by theatre company Justice in Motion, on the dangers of Knife crime and county lines. This concluded with a performance at Freedom Festival and will be followed up by assembly talks and 2 secondary schools this month. This impact of this project was huge, and we believe that tackling subjects like this through creative practices can have a lasting impact. It takes 1 minute to nominate, so please do so if you can. Thank you so much: https://lnkd.in/dsmJtrdp #FreedomFestHull #Hull #EastYorkshire #EventsHull #NominateUs Kathryn Biggin Phil Hargreaves Katie Atkins Holly Philo Zoe M.

Massive thank you to our Media Partner, Nation Broadcasting Ltd for your wonderful support this year! You may have heard our promotional ads on Nation Radio East Yorkshire in the build up to the festival, or took a visit to their stand onsite on the Saturday. Being able to promote the festival far and wide is so important for us. Our outdoor programme is completely free, and we want to ensure as many people are able to hear about the festival and come into the city to experience something truly extraordinary. Thank you so much Nation Radio for your support! Helen Nolan Sally Groome Kathryn Biggin #FreedomFestHull #FreedomFestHull2024 #Hull #EastYorkshire #EventsHull #Sponsor

An incredibly huge thank you to our creative partner, Hull Minster (Holy Trinity Parish Church), for providing their venue as the most spectacular backdrop for Circa’s Eternity at this year’s festival. The Minster held over 1300 guests across the festival for our sold out performances. Thank you so much to the team and staff at the Minster, we would not have been able to host Circa without their support. A massive thank you to major sponsor Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP for your incredible support this year. Andrew Jackson Solicitors were pivotal to bringing the Australian Circus Company C!rca to Hull, who performed their incredible show Eternity at Hull Minster (Holy Trinity Parish Church). Just under 1,500 people came to watch this beautiful performance, and this coupled with the outdoor performances, really showed the scope of what we can produce for the city. We are so grateful to the team at Andrew Jackson Solicitors for supporting this year’s festival. A HUGE thank you to our major sponsor KCOM for all their support this year, in their 120th anniversary year. They have been part of Freedom Festival for so long and we are so grateful for their belief in the arts and the power they have to bring communities together. We were so happy to have KCOM onsite throughout festival weekend, and their stand was buzzing, with so many different activities for families to get involved in. KCOM also support our Freedom Online programme, which includes a selection of podcasts, debates, music, and film of Freedom Festival artists past and present, and you can take a look at what we have there by visiting : https://lnkd.in/eC9NSmfJ Thank you so much to everyone at KCOM for your valued support.
