Functional Females is a community that aims to empower women in functional programming by providing a platform for collaboration, support, and connection. Our community comprises of female developers from various levels, ranging from junior to staff, who come together to incubate ideas, share experiences, and build meaningful connections. 🫱🏼🫲🏾 We offer a range of opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, including a dedicated Slack channel, workshops, dinners, and meetups. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive space where women can network, soundboard ideas, and find the encouragement they need to succeed in their professional and personal lives. 🚀 If you are a woman working within the functional programming space, we invite you to join our community of amazing women.     Research reveals that a staggering 50% of the women in tech drop out by the age of 35. Several factors drive women away from the technology industry, including gender bias, company culture, work-life balance and lack of mentorship. So what can we do, as an industry, to make meaningful improvements? 🤝 Promote diversity and inclusion. Encourage diverse hiring practices and create inclusive workplaces. 👩🏫 Offer mentorship programs. Support women in their career journeys with mentorship opportunities. ⚖️ Prioritise work-life balance. Implement flexible work arrangements to help employees manage their responsibilities. 🏢 Foster positive company cultures. Build a culture where everyone feels valued and supported. Although there are a number of initiatives ongoing to address this issue, there's still much work to be done to create a tech industry that is truly equitable. #womenintech #diversityandinclusion
