🚀 SUMMARY OF THE 2018 RESOURCES AND WASTE STRATEGY REVIEW CIWM has initiated a comprehensive review of the 2018 Resources and Waste Strategy (R&WS). Here are the key takeaways: 🍃 Fresh Approach Needed The R&WS has been implemented slowly over the past five years, and many policies are pending. Acknowledging the changing context, CIWM emphasises the need for a fresh approach that prioritises resource resilience. 🚨New Strategy Needed CIWM advocates for a Resource Resilience Strategy that integrates essential policies to keep resources in economic use and mitigate climate change. This includes a focus on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and eco-design. 📊 Policy Progress Needed Only a few of the original proposals have been fully implemented. CIWM has identified eight fully implemented, 21 partially implemented, and ten still in the early stages.
