Yom Kippur, known as the Day of Atonement, is one of the most significant and sacred days in the Jewish faith. It follows Rosh Hashanah and is a period dedicated to reflection and repentance and re-dedicating yourself for the year ahead. Different Jews will mark the day differently, however, many will abstain from eating and drinking for 25 hours and spend the day in prayer services in the synagogue or at home, which is why it sometimes referred to as the "Sabbath of all Sabbaths". Wishing everyone a meaningful and blessed Yom Kippur.

Today, Jewish communities across the globe come together to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, marking the dawn of the Jewish New Year. This special day is filled with prayers, self-reflection, and meaningful traditions, including the enjoyment of symbolic foods like apples and honey for a sweet year ahead, carrots for prosperity, round loaves of bread representing the circle of life, and pomegranates symbolising the 613 commandments. During this period of reflection many may take the time to seek forgiveness and hope for their names to be inscribed in the Book of Life, alongside those of their loved ones. Wishing everyone celebrating a meaningful and joyous Rosh Hashanah! 🍏🍯✨

A timelapse video shows how Galliford Try, in partnership with Severn Trent, installed a huge concrete roof on one of their biggest storm overflow tanks. This critical project, in construction for the past two years, aims to control and significantly reduce flood risk within the Stroud Five Valleys area, and includes installing four miles of new enlarged pipes, as well as separating surface water from the waste network. The film shows separate lid sections going on top of the 25m deep by 25m wide mega-tank in Stroud, Gloucestershire, which will protect residents from flooding and boost river health. The overflow tank has the capacity of 7,400m3, the equivalent of three Olympic sized swimming pools or over 24,500 bathtubs of water. The next phase of the project is to carry out upgrades to Severn Trent’s Stanley Downton Treatment Works by next May, to ensure that the new storm overflow works efficiently. #SourcetoSea
