In recent years, #Africa has seen significant advancements in telecommunications technology, but it has not seen the levels of mobile network development compared to regions such as Asia–Pacific. The proliferation of 4G LTE networks has transformed the digital landscape, enabling faster data speeds, enhanced connectivity and the widespread adoption of mobile broadband services across the region. Despite lagging Asia–Pacific and Latin America in technological advancements, Africa is expected to see significant growth levels as high-investment projects take effect. Moreover, the advent of 5G promises to usher in a new era of connectivity, characterized by ultrafast speeds, low latency and greater security. This report - the latest in a series of Regional Spotlights - provides a comprehensive overview of the status of #4G and #5G deployment in Africa, using the latest GSA data. It delves into various aspects of mobile network evolution, including the status of #LTE, the roll-out of 5G networks, advancements in LTE-Advanced, the emergence of 5G standalone infrastructure, the development of private networks, the switch-off of 2G and 3G technologies and the progress of satellite services. Key charts and data includes: * Number of operators launching LTE services per year and cumulative * Countries investing in LTE-Advanced networks in Africa * Number of operators investing in and with launched #5Gnetworks globally * Status of 5G networks in Africa * Operators investing in #5Gstandalone access and in any 5G network * Launches and trials of 5G standalone access networks in Africa * Countries and territories with organisations investing in #privatemobilenetworks in the form of pilot projects, deployments and launches * Global private mobile network deployments by region * Deployments of private mobile networks in Africa by industry * Status of #2G and #3G network #switchoff in Africa * Countries investing in satellite #NTN services in Africa Download the full report here: https://bit.ly/3YjO9zY #Africa5G #connectivityAfrica #connectedAfrica

#fixedwirelessaccess is a significant opportunity for #4G and #5G service providers. In this whitepaper from GSA Associate Ikotek USA, Inc., they examine how these service providers can maximise this opportunity by engaging an ODM to create tailored, optimised, attractive CPE that matches the needs of their customer bases. Instead of simply selecting existing products that don’t necessarily meet all of their needs, #FWA service providers can find that perfect balance between cost, features and performance and create differentiating CPE that truly sets them apart from their competition. Ikotek USA, Inc. argues that, by selecting an ODM, all the complexities of design and development, the delays involved with testing, validation and certification and the headaches of securing high-volume manufacturing with supporting logistics can all be abstracted away. This leaves the service provider free to focus on the core business of attracting and serving subscribers, many of which will be connecting to the digital world for the first time.
