Chief Executive at Gloucester City Homes

What an honour it was this afternoon for Gloucester City Homes to host our friends and partners as GLOUCESTERSHIRE NIGHTSTOP presented the outcomes of their research and a call to action Sir Dusty Miller Elaine Pearson -Scott LBBE and Jacob Bradfield We know there is a housing crisis, we know if affects young people differently and disproportionately to older adults and we know there is very little statutory funding to tackle homelessness as experienced by young people. We also know that it's only through partnership, collaboration and innovative thinking that we can achieve lasting and sustainable change. I think that, whilst realistic about the scale of the challenge, everyone left today believing that together, and by involving others, we can make an aspiration a reality.

We are celebrating our 600th new home with the latest development of five affordable homes in the village of Upton St Leonards, just a few minutes’ drive from the city of Gloucester. Our 600th new home is in a community where affordable homes are particularly scarce. Upton St Leonards is a very desirable village where development opportunities are rare, and homes are so often out of reach of families who grew up in the village. They will help to meet the housing need in the Stroud District Council area, whilst still being close by to our existing GCH communities in Matson and Abbeydale. We have now delivered 602 new affordable homes across Gloucester City, Tewksbury Borough and Stroud District since GCH was established as an independent housing association in 2015. We currently have 251 new homes in the pipeline awaiting planning decisions which we hope to have consent on before the end of the year.

    Director of Homes and Sustainability

Over 2 months into the new Role at Gloucester City Homes. A lot of hard work by the team continues to be done to implement our new repairs system and understand how it works including realising the efficiencies and benefits of the system. Plenty more work to do on this but I suppose that is what keeps things interesting and makes you want to go to work each day... One great benefit has been our ability to carry out immediate transactional surveys after each and every repair completed, This gives the customer the option to rate us from Unhappy Face to Smiling face and leave any comments positive or negative For each supervisor they are able to see all comments positive or negative for each of their engineers. Today i have been made aware that in 1 team of 5 Engineers, we have had 6 scores of 10/10 with great comments from the customers all in one day. '2 lovely men who worked hard on my guttering, it has took 6 years to get this fixed properly. Thank you hopefully no more wet kitchen.'   'The workman that came out was polite courteous and respected me and my home'   'The work was completed and I'm very happy with the repair was very polite and helpful at all times'   'Amazing service and very polite'   'He was early. He sorted out both my taps in the kitchen. Also sorted out bathroom taps. He did say that I needed new taps in the future in the bathroom. He was very nice. Did a good job. Thank you 😊'   'Very good repair, lovely gentleman' These comments are great to hear how our front line staff are carrying out their roles and representing Gloucester City Homes in such a positive way. Great work all involved. If you’ve made it this far I’d also like to say there is still time to apply for the property care managers position, who wouldn’t want to come and carry on this good work and make further improvements 😉 https://lnkd.in/eW3M2Pd2 #customer #customerfirst #customersatisfaction #team #Propertycare

This morning GCH colleagues spent some time painting bricks on Fountain Square for the Brick Project CIC and we invited Gloucester City Council's Cabinet Member for Housing Luke Shervey to join us. We've given over a brick wall on Fountain Square to be decorated by the community and create a permanent artwork at this important gateway for the city. This project is creating a positive voice and narrative for the community of Gloucester as a whole, and builds on the artistic collaborations we've been part of in the Westgate area over the past 4 years.   There are 1500 bricks to paint in total and all are welcome to get involved during the remaining painting days: Friday 04 October 9.30am to 4.30pm Saturday 05 October 10.30am to 5.30pm Sunday 6 October 10.30am to 5.30pm Wednesday 09 October 10.30am to 5.30pm Thursday 10 October 9.30am to 4.30pm Friday 11 October 10.30am to 5.30pm and a Celebration of Gloucester's Got Talent at the Folk of Gloucester on Saturday 12 October 2.30-5pm With thanks to Dan Petley and artist Amy Freeman for their work on this Arts Council England funded project.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Gloucester MP Alex McIntyre and members of Gloucester City Homes to our head office in Gloucester this week. 📍   It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the Podsmead regeneration over lunch and to be able to give Alex a tour of the area where Quattro and GCH are planning to carry out the works.   Podsmead regeneration is a bold plan to create a total of 173 total dwellings with 4 new apartment blocks and 80 houses. 🏠 In addition to these new homes, Quattro’s designs allow for retained landscape areas to be enhanced with parks, play areas 🛝 and communal gardens creating a biodiversity net gain. 🌿🌳🐝   The regeneration at Podsmead aims to create improved homes for people while also creating new retail, leisure, and sports provisions. With the new dwellings sustainability is high on the agenda with the new homes being more energy efficient and modern.
