Announcing the launch of the Strontium Alternative Magnet Innovation Consortium (SrAMIC) part-funded by the Innovate UK CLIMATES Programme SrAMIC is a collaboration between Geolithical Limited and University of Exeter. SrAMIC are investigating the potential for a domestic circular supply-chain for high strength strontium ferrite magnets (also known as ceramic magnets) as an alternative to, and to complement, the rare earth permanent magnets (REPMs) used in electric vehicle motors and wind turbines. "We’re excited to support the SrAMIC project, as developing a domestic supply chain for high-strength strontium ferrite magnets aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance sustainability in renewable energy. Non-rare earth magnets are central to GreenSpur generators, reducing supply chain risk and lowering costs for these critical technologies. We are pleased to share that GreenSpur has reached a new manufacturing milestone in collaboration with BC Electrical Techniques Ltd, led by David Legge. This collaboration is partly funded by the Driving the Electric Revolution (DER) project to develop a coil winding solution with flexible tooling, enabling GreenSpur to scale production. GreenSpur designs these coils for our alternators, which are predominantly used in the wind energy sector. This is a significant achievement for GreenSpur, as we have achieved volume production verification with a repeatable coil packing factor of up to 96%. #DER #electricrevolution #manufacturing #windenergy

Germany's Nordex Group installs its most powerful wind turbine. Nordex celebrated installing the world's first N175/6.X wind turbine in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With a rotor area of 24,053 m² and a capacity of up to 6.8 MW, it marks a milestone for medium and light wind sites.
