There’s no missing it now! The hoarding for our South Molton development is officially up, marking a milestone in the West End’s largest mixed-use scheme. Behind the wrap lies a transformative £500m investment, bringing sustainable office spaces, retail, dining, and new homes to the heart of London. We're proud to re-use and repurpose wherever possible, breathing new life into this historic corner of Mayfair. The 370,000 sq ft scheme is in full swing, with completion set for stages through 2027. Newson's Yard has been highly commended at the Architects’ Journal Retrofit and Reuse Awards 2024. In the heart of the Pimlico Road Design District, renowned for being London’s premier destination for interior design, art, antiques and fine furniture, the scheme consists of five retail units and two food and beverage spaces around a double-height courtyard. Gaining recognition in the "Adaptive Reuse into Mixed Use" category, this sensitive reuse of London’s oldest timber yard retained much of the original structure, with new mezzanines created out of Cross Laminated Timber and brick. The judges praised it as “imaginatively done,” “coherent,” and “beautiful,” setting a precedent for future retrofit projects. Congratulations to Michael Ward, who has been promoted to Managing Director of Co-Investment. In his new role, he will lead our North American Structured Development Finance business, providing capital to leading residential developers in cities across the US and Canada. Michael has been with us for over 20 years, beginning his journey in 2002 at our Vancouver office and holding significant development roles in Washington, D.C., and Calgary since. He returned to Vancouver in 2014, where he expanded our development team and oversaw the delivery of numerous award-winning projects, including Grosvenor Ambleside in West Vancouver. See today's Green Street News article to learn more about Michael’s new role and our SDF Programme, which supplements our core urban property development and investment activities in North America: https://lnkd.in/gv52RzZ7 #StructuredDevelopmentFinance #SDF #UrbanDevelopment #NorthAmerica #RealEstate #ResidentialDevelopment

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost in the September 11 tragedy. On this day, 11 years ago, the September 11 Memorial Garden was opened in Grosvenor Square, Mayfair. The memorial honours the 67 British victims, amongst all others, who lost their lives that day. It serves as a peaceful space for families and friends to remember their loved ones. #NeverForget

Did you know that the Westminster Foundation extends its support to long-term charitable projects across the US and Canada? Last year, the foundation committed $60,000 across three years to support Arts Umbrella, a not-for-profit charitable organisation focused on empowering young people through creative expression since 1979. Selected by our North American property business, the not-for-profit offers free visual and performing arts programs to nearly 15,000 participants annually in Metro Vancouver, remote Canadian communities, and beyond. This year, funds helped 284 children aged 3-5 in under served communities engage in ‘Head Start,’ an early learning program with creative dance, theatre, and visual arts. Additionally, the foundation’s support enabled 120 students to explore environmental issues through the ‘Eco Theatre’ program, fostering awareness through the exploration of theatre activities. Liverpool ONE's Sugar House Steps were transformed into a colourful live art installation by artist Stephanie Lüning as part of 'The Last Days of Summer' festival. Last weekend, a mountain of rainbow-colourful foam filled the air during the ‘Island of Foam’ event at Liverpool ONE. Hundreds of spectators were invited to get messy and explore the biodegradable artwork. This immersive experience was part of the wider festival, organised by Liverpool BID Company, Culture Liverpool, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, and Peel Waters, bringing a host of free, family-friendly fun to Liverpool’s waterfront. #LiverpoolONE #StephanieLüning #IslandofFoam

Cllr Ryan Jude and Cllr Hamza Taouzzale recently joined our summer volunteering programme to help Westminster schools prepare their outdoor spaces for the new school year. One of a string of volunteering activities held as part of our UK property business' Greener Futures initiative, we spent the day building, planting and painting at St Marylebone in Queens Park, London. Partnering with Groundwork London and Westminster City Council, we have spent the summer enhancing green spaces across 5 Westminster schools for over 900 children. Thanks to everyone for getting stuck in! #GreenerFutures #SocialImpact #Volunteering #PeopleandPlanetPositive

We recently welcomed over forty 16-21 year olds to our London office to celebrate the end of their 12-month youth programme, Mastering My Future. In a full-circle moment, we had the privilege of hosting the cohort both on the programme's kick-off day and at the wrap-up celebration a year later. A partnership between 2-3 Degrees and the Young Westminster Foundation, the programme was designed to build professional skills like networking and public speaking for young people in Westminster while highlighting local employment opportunities. Congratulations to all participants and thanks to everyone who joined us. #SocialImpact #Community #PeopleandPlanetPositive
