Happy #FindsFriday everyone! Today we are watching our team expertly reconstruct this Scottish white gritty ware pot so it can be illustrated. This straight sided cooking pot is likely from the 12th century and was found during the excavations at India Buildings in Edinburgh. Do you think we missed a bit? Sadly this is all the connecting pieces of this vessel that were present onsite! Fortunately though there’s a complete profile and this pot would have looked the same the whole way around its circumference. Meaning we can get a really good illustration of this gorgeous medieval pot! Read more about the site at India Buildings in the article on our website: https://lnkd.in/egpc6NZn Don’t worry we take the masking tape off, it’s just there until the glue dries! Stay tuned for the full reveal 😲 And don’t forget to follow us for more exciting finds!

We were delighted to put together a presentation for the Park Street Church of England School in Cambridge last week on behalf of our client Marick Real Estate all about the excavations at their Park Street redevelopment. It was a fantastic day and the students had excellent questions about the site and about archaeology. Our engagement team are always keen to deliver engaging workshops and presentations about the wonderful work we undertake on behalf of our clients! #archaeology #learning #britisharchaeology
A big thank you to Jessica Lowther and Laurie Matthews from RSK Group Headland who put together a fantastic presentation, and show and tell, for the visit to the Park Street Church of England School in Cambridge last week. Andrew Heselton and Daniel Wiltshire, from Marick, joined them to meet the pupils from years 3 – 6, in 2x 1 hour class sessions, and talk about the Development and the Archaeology finds at our nearby Park Street Cambridge project. The pupils learned about how the investigations were undertaken, what kind of fascinating archaeology was discovered, such as: Roman wine flagons, jewellery, pottery, bone carvings, structures and hundreds of more articles. There were a few activities such as bone carving (using soap instead), archaeology finds to hold, and an interactive timeline. It was well worth the trip to the school and we all hope that the children enjoyed the visit. #socialvalue #cambridge #schoolvisit #education #Marickrealestate
