We work with people and companies committed to responding sustainably to the current biodiversity and climate emergency

About us

Heal’s name is its mission: heal the land, heal nature, heal ourselves. Heal was set up in March 2022 to enable people and companies to do something tangible on the ground, in England, about ecological collapse and the climate emergency. When the UK Government called for the creation of half a million hectares of new wildlife-rich habitat, we saw an opportunity to create a not-for-profit which would act as a focus for raising money to buy land and give it back to nature. Aiming to create a rewilding site in every English county. We acquired our foundation rewilding site, Heal Somerset, in December 2022. Our current and future sites, are places where wildlife can thrive and people can reconnect with the natural world on which we all depend and improve their mental and physical health. By rewilding land, we are actively restoring soil fertility and managing the land in ways which will hold back floodwaters and stop top soils being lost. We are making use of the most powerful technology that exists on earth to reduce CO2 levels – plant photosynthesis. Involvement in rewilding through Heal is beneficial for companies in multiple ways: - Positive impact on brand and reputation - Good for employee acquisition, retention, engagement and mental health - Part of a sustainability strategy towards net zero carbon

Heal 3x3 sponsors, listen up! 📣 Once you’ve had your square for a year, your Heal 3x3 square sponsorship comes to an end…but fear not! You can keep your name associated with your square(s) by making a small ‘upkeep’ donation, currently just £3 per year per square. This optional donation helps us to run our Heal Somerset site, fund rewilding interventions and, in the future, look after our ecosystem engineers (pigs, cattle and ponies). The first batch of emails about upkeep for July, August and September 2023 Heal 3x3 sponsorships (we’re catching up) are waiting in sponsor inboxes (or in spam/junk). All the info on how to pay for this upkeep donation will be in the email. Thank you to everyone who has supported us by sponsoring a square and if you haven’t but you’d like to, please see the link below 👇 https://lnkd.in/gJ7kmHX Any queries, just email us at heal@healrewilding.org.uk. PS Lifetime square sponsors, you don’t need to worry about upkeep, it’s included in your initial sponsorship! #Heal3x3 #Rewilding #NatureRecovery #Wildlife #ClimateChangeAction

The countdown is on! 3 weeks to go until until we hit the road for Heal Live 💜 These in-person events will bring together rewilding experts and enthusiasts for evenings filled with fascinating discussions. The tour begins in London on Wednesday 23 October, so it's only right that we start the speaker intros with the lovely lot that will be joining us there. First to mention is our very own Jan Stannard, who is our Co-founder and Chair of Trustees. Jan first became active in wildlife campaigning in 2015 when she set up a local swift group. She had a 40-year business career but left that world in 2020 to launch Heal. She'll be talking all about the charity and our progress at our foundation rewilding site, Heal Somerset Second on the list is the wonderful Jasmine Isa Qureshi, who is an interdisciplinary ecologist, marine biologist, journalist, writer, experienced facilitator, academic researcher, activist and award-winning poet. She's also the Advocacy Lead for grassroots campaigns collective Wild Card. Jasmine will be joining the panel discussing access to nature and the need to create sanctuary for wildlife. Last, but certainly not least, is Elliot Newton who is the Co-founder of Citizen Zoo an innovative rewilding organisation dedicated to transforming urban landscapes through community-driven projects. Elliot was instrumental in establishing the London Beaver Working Group and has been a key member of the Ealing Beaver Project. He'll be joining the panel alongside Jasmine. The speaker intro posts for the York and Birmingham events will be coming soon, but we can already tell you that the line-ups are just as exciting. Heal Live tickets are £10 and can be found via our events page below 👇 https://lnkd.in/e6wC9mbe These events are kindly sponsored by TCNUK. #Rewilding #RewildingEvents #LondonEvents #NatureRecovery #NatureEvents

We can hardly wait for our Visiting Birds, Fungi and All Things Autumn guided tour on Sunday 13 October from 10am-12pm 🍄 It's the perfect time of year to spot migrating bird species, like redwing and goldcrest, see fascinating fungi and admire the vibrant colours this season has to offer. You'll be taken around our foundation rewilding site, Heal Somerset, by Nick Patel who is an expert tour guide and knowledgeable naturalist. Going on a tour with Nick gives you real insight into the rewilding process and the wonderful impact it's having on the species living on site. Tickets are £15 and can be purchased via our events page below 👇 https://lnkd.in/e3r_tjBK

Where there is water, there is life. Happy #WorldRiversDay everyone! 💙 To celebrate, we thought we'd share some of the wonderful species that have stopped by one of the tributaries of the river Frome, which runs through our Heal Somerset site. All of these clips were taken by the same camera, in the same spot, showing just how many species rely on clean, healthy rivers to thrive. Can anyone name all the species in this video? Let us know in the comments 👇 #Rewilding #Rivers #FreshWaterHabitats #NatureRecovery #Wildlife #Beaver
