Today Lloyds Banking Group are launching its new enhanced EAP service for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies 🎉 Group Health and Wellbeing, in collaboration with Rainbow, are excited to announce the pilot launch of our enhanced Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support service, provided by HealthHero, specifically designed for our LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies. 🌈 This comprehensive EAP offers emotional support with qualified counsellors and unlimited calls for immediate assistance, counselling with up to 6 sessions available through various methods, coaching for personal challenges and communication skills, health and wellbeing advice from qualified nurses, specialist support for debt and personal money matters, and confidential legal assistance on a wide range of issues. Why are we launching this service? We are launching this service in response to feedback from our LGBTQ+ colleagues who felt the existing EAP offering did not adequately address the specific challenges they encounter. Recognising these unique challenges, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace. The enhanced EAP service aims to provide a safe space for our LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies to seek support, share experiences, and access resources tailored to their needs. 🌟 This pioneering service is the first of its kind for LBG and will be staffed by individuals with lived experience and specialised training, ensuring that the support provided is both empathetic and effective. If the pilot proves successful, we could extend this to support other groups facing unique challenges. We're so proud to be working with Lloyds Banking Group to introduce a dedicated mental health clinical pathway for Lloyds' LGBTQ+ colleagues 💛 🏳️🌈
Why I'm honoured to work for and represent such an inclusive organisation! I am the Group Health and Wellbeing Lead Lloyds Banking Group. We take pride in being an inclusive and supportive employer. We’re also committed to being bold and innovative and here’s a prime example of how we’re doing just that! We recognise that our colleagues face a diverse range of challenges that impact their mental health, and that a one-size-fits-all approach can sometimes get in the way when reaching out for support. Next Monday, in partnership with our EAP HealthHero and our Rainbow LGBTQ+ professional network, we’re launching an exciting test-and-learn initiative. We’ll trial a dedicated clinical pathway for our LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies, staffed by counsellors that have lived experience as members of the community themselves. This ensures the support provided is empathetic and effective, eliminating the need for colleagues to explain what it means to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. The counsellors will simply ‘get it’. It’s wonderful to push boundaries and improve access to great mental health support. I hope this provision will make a significant difference to our colleagues. I look forward to working with our provider and diversity groups to explore future developments to better meet our colleagues’ needs.
