Securing planning approval is a key milestone, and this project is a great example of what can be achieved through great teamwork. At Helix Partnership Homes, we focus on delivering well-designed, sustainable homes that integrate into and enhance local communities. Transforming underused brownfield land into affordable housing is always a challenge, but with the right team and approach, we can make a real impact. We are looking forward to bringing these homes to life. Well done to everyone involved. Planning Success for Affordable Homes in Gravesend! ECE Planning, working with Helix Group on behalf of The Hyde Group, has secured full planning permission for a 100% affordable housing scheme at Land to the West of Nursery Mews, Gravesend, Kent. Making a highly efficient use of a brownfield site, the development will deliver: 🏡 6 affordable homes (4 x two-bedroom houses and 2 x one-bedroom apartments) 🚶 Improved pedestrian and cycle connections with new emergency access 🌳 Enhanced landscaping and biodiversity net gain ⚡ Sustainable features including EV charging points and air source heat pumps This scheme makes a small but highly valuable contribution to meeting Gravesham Borough Council’s housing needs, delivering much-needed affordable homes on a brownfield site in a highly sustainable location. The inclusion of a new pedestrian and cycle route will reopen a vital connection between Nursery Mews and Cedar Avenue, improving access and connectivity for both existing and future residents, while also enhancing community safety through natural surveillance. Why is construction losing the battle for talent? At Helix, we know the value of developing our industry’s next generation, but the reality is that a job in construction is not seen as a desirable career for many. Clearly, something needs to change, and Helix and Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce will be joined by partners from across the industry next week to discuss what that might be. Following his lively panel discussion at last year’s Chartered Institute of Housing, our very own New Business Manager, Lawrence Wright, will be taking part in a round table to discuss the challenges our industry faces and propose some real-world ideas to solve the talent dilemma facing construction. We’ll be sharing some highlights from the morning next week, but until then we’d love to hear your views. What has your experience been? What do you think is the biggest barrier to securing industry talent? #construction #skillsgap #futureofconstruction #talent

For Christmas Jumper Day at Helix, we didn’t need a blueprint - just some festive jumpers and the best team around. From Emma Hanlon, Head of Finance, who’s keeping the books balanced and the festive vibes high, to Ryan Tarpey, Assistant Buyer, whose jumper is a perfect fit for the season, we brought the spirit of the festivities into the workplace. Hannah (Assistant Accountant) made sure the numbers added up and the cheer stayed strong, while Gill Callaghan (Senior Buyer) picked the perfect jumper - just like she picks the perfect materials. Lucy M. (Business Support Manager) brought the festive vibes, proving that a great jumper is all about personality (and maybe a bit of mince pie-stealing potential). Leendert van den Berg (Senior Estimator) estimated just the right amount of festive cheer, making sure the season was celebrated in style. Here’s how we marked Christmas Jumper Day - simple, fun, and full of team spirit. #HelixChristmas #ChristmasJumperDay #TeamSpirit

Helix Group reposted this
At last the sun shone, albeit briefly, and we got a new Bid Manager! Welcome to the team Joanna Raniga. Jo and I took a brief respite from the wind and rain to walk our St Margret's Way project. Working in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, we are close to completing the 46 new homes. The end is in sight, the works are nearing completion and the homes are fantastic. They are setting a clear benchmark in quality for Affordable Homes. We are really proud of the hard work the Helix Group and our supply chain have put in here. It is looking great.

Sometimes, it’s worth stepping back—or flying up—to truly appreciate the scope of a project. Recent drone footage showcases the latest progress at Platt Estates, Putney, a transformative project for Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. The site, once home to old garages, is being reshaped into a thriving residential community featuring 10 modern apartments within a three-story frame structure and 4 new houses. Installing a tower crane exemplifies what it means to build success, through collaboration, precision, and expertise. A special thanks to Falcon Tower Crane Services Ltd, Bronzeshield Lifting Ltd , and the entire team at MJD Civil Engineering Ltd for making it happen. And of course, a shoutout to Justin Long for capturing this incredible aerial perspective, it’s a reminder of how every detail on the ground contributes to the bigger picture. Here’s to building success that serves both the community and the environment. Stay tuned for what’s next! #ConstructionInnovation #SustainableDevelopment #EngineeringExcellence

Hello St Edmunds... Building Respect, Trust and Success At Helix, we live by our Building Blocks of Respect, Trust and Success. These values define how we work daily. Our St Edmunds project in Maidenhead is a shining example of this holistic approach. Through the demolition of outdated structures and the construction of 14 high-quality apartments, we're supporting vulnerable families at risk of homelessness, while helping the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead meet ambitious housing targets. Special thanks to BoonBrown, Structis, Infrastruct Cs Limited and the Helix site team for delivering this project. As with all projects, there were challenges and constraints, including shared access with a primary school. Working together we delivered this scheme and hopefully inspired a future workforce too. Watch the video below to explore how our Intelligent Building approach, sustainable practices, and community-focused strategies are making a difference. #IntelligentBuilding #SocialImpact #SustainableConstruction #HelixProjects
