Yet, their needs are often overlooked in healthcare systems, leaving many without access to proper prevention and care. We must integrate NCD care into Universal Health Coverage, eliminate age caps in policies, and invest in support for unpaid caregivers. A new Rapid Needs Assessment by IDRAAC, a member of the HelpAge global network, highlights the critical situation of displaced people in Mount Lebanon. As violence escalates, the top needs include: - Warm clothing - Cash assistance - Access to medication, especially for those aged 50 and above #OlderPeople face additional challenges, including a lack of assistive products such as eyeglasses and walking sticks, as well as widespread psychological distress, with 85% reporting feelings of depression. The UK’s Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has launched its Middle East Humanitarian Appeal. The DEC unites 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds swiftly in response to international humanitarian crises. Age International, one of our key partners, is a proud member of the DEC.
