This #StressAwarenessDay we are celebrating the rejuvenating respite that young carers can enjoy at Honeypot! Taking on a surrogate adult role at such a young age is enormously stressful. For many of the young carers that visit us, Honeypot is their only chance to truly relax, get away from their caring responsibilities, and enjoy time to just play and be children. They return home happier, more confident, and with greater resilience to face the challenges of a caring role. Find out more at www.honeypot.org.uk

Thank you to our corporate partner Addleshaw Goddard who sponsored a Memory Making Day last week at Chester Zoo! We had such a blast exploring the zoo and having a picnic! One young carer said: "My favourite part about Chester Zoo was the penguins. Every time I put my hand on the glass they kept coming up to me and it made me happy" 🐧❤️ Find out more about partnership opportunities at https://lnkd.in/dsJD5zgq

We have two wonderful musicians performing at the Honeypot Carol Concert on 4 December. Amy Pritchard is a talented Hampshire-based harpist who also works at Honeypot House as part of our children's services team. Ben Carter is a jazz saxophonist and composer who graduated from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and recently released his first album, Pulsar. They will be joined by The Funky Little Choir Co and King Edward VI Prep School Choir for a delightful celebration of music, tradition, and festive cheer at the beautiful Romsey Abbey. Thrilled to be a beneficiary charity! Thank you The Association of Property Lenders and Addleshaw Goddard for your support.
🌟 We’re delighted to announce the fantastic sponsors for this year’s APL Annual Fundraising Dinner: Addleshaw Goddard and McBains. Their generous backing makes this evening possible, and we’re truly thankful. 🙏 What makes this partnership all the more meaningful is their commitment to worthy causes. Addleshaw Goddard has chosen to support The Honeypot Children's Charity, while McBains is proudly championing Variety, the Children's Charity. These causes are close to their hearts, and we’re honoured to join them in raising vital funds on the night. We’re also thrilled to share that The APL’s selected charity this year is Running Well. We’re passionate about supporting their remarkable work and the difference they make. 💪 Stay tuned as we highlight each charity’s inspiring work. Together, we’re creating a lasting impact! 🌍✨ #APLDinner #MakingADifference #CommunityImpact #APLFundraisingDinner #Sponsors #CharityPartners #SupportingChange

A fantastic achievement! Thank you Berkeley Foundation and Berkeley Group Plc St George for your ongoing support for young carers 🐝
Last month, our amazing Berkeley Group Plc St George colleagues hosted a thrilling charity clay pigeon shoot day. The event raised an incredible £41,000 for our charity partners SPEAR London, The Honeypot Children's Charity & Mencap! 🎯💥 A huge congratulations to the Long Harbour Ltd team for taking home the top prize and an extra shoutout to their MD, James Aumonier, who earned the coveted "Top Gun" title for the best shooter of the day! 🏆 Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a success and all those who donated to the auction and raffle prizes.

Some good news from #Budget2024 for children and families but does it go far enough? Extra funding for school breakfast clubs, child social care and special educational needs provision, plus a significant easing in the rate of monthly deductions from Universal Credit to help keep more money in the pockets of those who need it. A rise too in the weekly earnings limit for Carer's Allowance, but it remains the lowest benefit of its kind with complex eligibility criteria and offers no support for young carers under 16 or those still in full time education. And no scrapping of the two-child limit, placing further pressure on families struggling to provide the most basic needs. So much more is needed to take positive action on preventing child poverty. Honeypot supports young carers and their families with a range of services including wellbeing grants to help with the purchase of everyday essentials and life-enhancing activities. The treat fairies are getting ready for Halloween in the Honeypot House woods! Visiting children can find sweets when they pull up the wishing well bucket. Thank you to Honeypot volunteer, Derrick Young, for building this lovely fairy tree house and wishing well for our forest friends, along with many other wonderful carpentry creations for Honeypot. 🧚🧚♀️
