STUDY: The Dravet Syndrome Foundation in Spain have asked us to advertise a study that they're conducting. Please see the details of the study below, in their own words: Dear Families, We would like to invite you to take part in a study that is being conducted by the Dravet Syndrome Foundation Spain. A delicate and difficult topic will be investigated, but we believe that it is important to know more about it in order to improve its approach in the future. The questionnaire is a study on the impact of the risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in the families of people with Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies (DEEs). The study aims to answer several important questions: • How does the risk of SUDEP affect families of people with DEEs? • Is there professional support available and effective to help families cope with this risk? • What measures are being taken or should be taken to reduce the risk of SUDEP and support affected families? Last week HOPE Young Ambassador, Blake Gibbons shared his experiences of living with epilepsy at the GenPAN Network Genetics Associates Conference held at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Blake also shared information about the support HOPE provides to families nationwide.
