Last Friday, we held our first ever Staff Awards Night🎉. The evening was all about celebrating and recognising the hard work of the entire Horizon team. Hosted in the beautifully decorated Horizon Hangout at our Havant site, everyone arrived dressed to impress✨. We also had a very special award which was voted by our members themselves. We’re thrilled to share that our trading company has donated £3,800 back to the Trust, which will be used to fund brand new easy access pool steps at Waterlooville Leisure Centre!✨ This is all thanks to our members. Every coffee and snack purchased from our cafes, along with every retail item, has helped make this contribution possible.☕️ These new steps will make our pool more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. #CommunityImpact #EveryCoffeeCounts

I’m thrilled to have won the Cultural Ambassador Award at Horizon Leisure Centres inaugural staff awards night last Friday! I’m truly passionate about our PRIDE company values and believe a great culture is built by recognising the contributions of every individual. It's inspiring to see what we achieve together, and I'm proud to be part of a team so committed to making our workplace great. This award reflects a collective effort in inspiring those around us and maintaining a positive attitude and energy and I’m grateful to work alongside such a fantastic team led by Sam Ryan, MICPD who are all dedicated to making Horizon a fantastic place to work. The hard work and talent of the whole of the Horizon team across all our departments and centres is essential in helping us deliver the service we do to our customers and the community. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees on the night and here’s to continuing to uplift each other and create an inspiring workplace together!

Horizon Leisure Centres hosted their first inaugural staff awards evening yesterday, and it is with great pride that two of our Swim Teachers won awards. Well done to Abbie and Kirsty. Abbie, to the left, became a Swim England Swim Teacher last year through an apprenticeship and has been supporting Swim School alongside her Duty Manager role. Abbie has great enthusiasm for swim teaching and swimmers love it when they see her on poolside. Abbie fully deserves the Rising Star Award. Kirsty, to the right, won our Long Service Award for her dedication. Kirsty has been with us for 30 years. Kirsty has great experience and expertise in swimming. Kirsty ability to adapt to swimmers' needs and ability is second to one. In group lessons or 121's swimmers leave Kirsty's lessons happy and wanting to come back. Part of the reason Horizon Swim School is successful is the great Swim Teachers we have. We have a great blend of experience and new teachers. All with the same passion to get people in the local area swimming. Congratulations to all the other winners and I look forward to being at this event in 2025

Weekly Round Up Continuing to Celebrate Women’s Health Month and exciting company updates. CoppaFeel This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sara, one of our Trustees, has been raising awareness by placing CoppaFeel! self-check stickers in our changing rooms, showers, and cubicles, along with providing informative leaflets at both centres. This comes with the important message that no matter your age or gender, it’s important to understand what’s normal for your body. Remembering to check yourself regularly and report any changes to your GP. Havant Gym Upgrade We recently announced to customers that our Havant gym will soon undergo an exciting LifeFitness trade out, featuring brand new equipment and upgrades to existing machines- all inspired by feedback on our current setup!💪 The transformation is scheduled for December, with sneak peeks of what’s coming shared along the way👀.

It was all for a fantastic cause, helping raise vital funds to ensure people have access to free wellbeing and crisis services⭐️.
