Last Thursday was our 2024 Women in Property Midlands Annual Dinner at The Grand Hotel Birmingham. My third time attending this event and 2nd as a committee member and as always it did not disappoint! ✨ A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening so enjoyable. We recently formed a £150 million joint venture with PLATFORM_ to deliver 451-apartments at the Sweet Street Build to Rent scheme in Leeds.   It represents the first phase of PLATFORM_’s transformative 1.3 million sq ft mixed-use development on Sweet Street, in the South Bank regeneration area of Leeds.   Scheduled for completion at the start of 2027, the previously vacant site will become a thriving mixed-use community, featuring a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, complemented by extensive amenities including a gym, residents’ lounges, co-working spaces, extensive roof terraces and curated green spaces.   This deal is an excellent example of how HGP’s unique equity funding model can contribute to significant regeneration schemes, creating homes and amenities in the areas which need them most.   Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eW5wmXjm   #BuildToRent #SweetStreetLeeds #EquityFunding   Winvic Construction Ltd PLATFORM_

We have appointed Alex Maltby as Investment Director, with responsibility for our investments in the South West. Alex will oversee the opening of HGP’s first office in the region, in Bristol, and will lead the team responsible for growing HGP’s footprint across both the SME for-sale and Living sectors. This week we're celebrating Homes for Scotland’s SME Awareness Week, running from 19th-23rd August.🎉 We have been supporting our SME development partners across Scotland with access to equity, including Whiteburn, Briar Homes Limited (Scotland) and Cruden Group. They form part of our HGP Regional Growth Initiative (RGI), which offers access to a pot of institutional equity to fund multi-site growth plans, allowing SME developers to free up their own equity to invest into their growing businesses. The current environment is challenging for SMEs in Scotland with housing shortages across the country causing many local authorities, such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fife declaring housing emergencies. SME’s play a critical role in increasing the supply of homes across the country, tackling the housing crisis and bringing brownfield sites back into use. HGP plays a crucial role in assisting and accelerating the delivery of these developments by supporting SMEs in Scotland. SME builders are vital for the Scottish economy with 3.5 jobs supported for every home built. We are committed to helping SMEs grow. 🏡 New student homes alert 🏡   Our latest joint venture, with Watkin Jones Group, the UK’s leading developer and manager of residential for rent, will see the delivery of 397 much needed, purpose built student homes in Stratford, London and continues our diversification into new Living tenures.   Targeting a 'BREEAM Excellent' certification, the £120m GDV scheme will cater for the nearly 14,000 students studying in the local area, whilst providing new outdoor spaces and amenities, along with enhancements to the public realm including additional wildlife-friendly landscaping and greenery to enhance the local surrounding. Colin Bennett, Investment Director at HGP, added: “Establishing our first joint venture with Watkin Jones, one of the UK’s leading PBSA providers, is another milestone for HGP. HGP has been shortlisted at this year’s Insider East Midlands Property Dinner for the ‘Property Deal of the Year’ category. The nomination is for our equity JV with Olympian Homes, which will support the delivery of a 790-bed PBSA scheme at Alfreton Road in Nottingham. The scheme, which will also include 19 affordable homes and commercial space, has a GDV of £120 million. We look forward to the awards ceremony taking place in September. We formed an equity joint venture with Torsion Group to deliver a major new £53 million development at Hollis Croft in Sheffield.   This partnership will provide funding to bring forward a 234-bed BTR project, spanning 17 floors with outstanding views across the city. The completed development will also feature a residents’ lounge, home cinema, fully equipped gym, co-working areas with meeting rooms and bicycle storage.   This latest equity commitment continues our expansion in the UK Living sector and is aligned with our goal to deliver projects that have a positive environmental and social impact.
