There are 800 reasons to celebrate as we’ve hit another major milestone in Europe. 🎉 We now have more than 800 open hotels across nearly 40 countries in Europe, with new properties and brand debuts to come. One of the key markets that has contributed to this growth is Portugal, where we recently raised a glass to 1,000 new rooms in the pipeline. 🥂 With the signings of nine hotels including Kimpton Lisbon, Hotel Indigo Faro, and Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties, Portugal continues to power ahead. Psst… Keep your eyes peeled for the openings of InterContinental Chantilly Château Mont Royal in France and Verno House Vignette Collection in Budapest in the second half of 2024…

World Refugee Day gives us a chance to honour the millions of refugees that find themselves starting over in communities around the world. IHG Hotels & Resorts is committed to improving the lives of 30 million people in our communities around the world through our Journey to Tomorrow responsible business plan. As part of that commitment, we recognise the role that we play in helping refugee families integrate into their communities and provide a link to employment opportunities at IHG-branded properties. We have teamed up with the Tent Partnership for Refugees in both the US and the UK to support refugees with finding these new employment opportunities. Through our partnership in the Americas, we have pledged to hire and train 100 refugees by 2025 and in the UK, IHG recently joined 70 other companies to form Tent UK, which is committed to helping refugees secure employment in the country.  We want to make sure we are using our skills, resources and meaningful partnerships to make a real sustainable difference.
