We’re proud to support patients and staff at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, helping our hospitals do more.
About us
Imperial Health Charity supports the five hospitals of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea, St Mary's and the Western Eye. Every year we award millions of pounds in grants to fund major redevelopments, clinical research and medical equipment, as well as helping patients and families at times of real hardship. We run the volunteer service across the hospitals, manage a museum-accredited collection of more than 2,000 artworks and fundraise through appeals so that we can continue our vital work.

For this week’s Thank You Friday, we want to thank the volunteers who took part in the bulb-planting event at Charing Cross Hospital back in 2023 during our first-ever corporate volunteering day. These volunteers gave up their time to plant over 9,000 daffodil bulbs at the hospital, designed to make the entrance a more welcoming site. We’d also like to thank our generous corporate partners, including CBRE, Tishman Speyer, BNP Paribas, Visa and Vodafone, who made the event possible, and the amazing team at Dario Pizzi who helped run the day. If your company is interested in supporting our hospitals and getting involved, you can find out more about our blooming corporate offer on our website: https://lnkd.in/efzH4jbb

To celebrate Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we wanted to share some of the work we’ve done with the Learning Disability and Autism Team at our hospitals. Our Artist Facilitator Georgia and Arts Engagement Producer Lauren offer a range of creative and sensory engagements for our neurodiverse patients, including craft activities and mark making! Activities are carefully chosen depending on interest and needs of those taking part, and we have seen the programme make a huge difference on patients’ wellbeing. Find out more about our Art in Hospitals programme here: https://lnkd.in/erN_cPRz

For #OvarianCancerMonth, Ellie Patsalos shared with us why she is supporting our specialist ovarian cancer fund: "In January 2017, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had successful treatment, but unfortunately, it returned in February 2021. Luckily it was operable and after another course of chemo, I am now cancer-free. However, since I’ve had a recurrence, there’s a strong likelihood that the cancer will come back. "That’s why I’m supporting Imperial Health Charity’s Ovarian Care Fund, which funds vital research into ovarian cancer led by Professor Christina Fotopoulou. In particular, Dr Natasha Rinnie has been doing research into new treatment options that will make women who have relapsed begin to respond to their chemotherapy again and so improve their survival." Through the Ovarian Care Fund and support from the Parasol Foundation, we are funding research into advanced ovarian cancer in women. The research is led by Professor Christina Fotopoulou and Dr Paula Cunnea at Imperial College in west London. Find out more about the fund here: https://lnkd.in/eWec2aCt

Our beautiful stained glass window at Charing Cross Hospital has been given a new lease of life. British artist, Keith Grant created the artwork, 'Millenium New World One' which was installed in Charing Cross in 1999. Recently, the piece has undergone a major restoration as part of a conservation project ran by our arts team. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eT2KHhSY
