The proposed closure of Cardiff University’s School of Music is deeply concerning. This would be a huge blow for its staff, students and music at higher education in Wales. We urge the university to think again. https://loom.ly/u9TG4y4

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be speaking at the Music & Drama Education Expo this year! 🌟 Join my session "Leading with Creativity: Inclusive Strategies for Music Educators" on Day 1 (Thursday 30th January) to explore practical strategies for delivering a Music curriculum that celebrates #diversity, encourages student creativity, and addresses barriers to #inclusion. 🤗 As part of the session, you will also discover the I.D.E.A.L Network, a groundbreaking space to deepen your understanding, share resources, and connect with like-minded aspiring leaders dedicated to creating inclusive cultures in the #arts. ⭐ On Day 2, I will be reuniting with industry leaders Roger Wilson of Black Lives in Music, Luqman Ali, and Jeremy Haneman to talk about "Breaking The Singing Barrier: Cultural Barriers To Singing". We spoke about this very topic last year in a webinar series for Independent Society of Musicians (ISM) Trust. 😊 Join our discussion on cultural barriers to singing in schools, covering religion, family attitudes, cultural legacy of singing and own experience of music education (or not!), navigating different cultural and social expectations, and practitioner fear of offending. We aim to expand your awareness, deepen your engagement and provoke further thinking. 🙌 See you there! 🥰 Follow Music & Drama Education Expo for more information. You can also book tickets here: https://lnkd.in/eqqFXJMt #professionaldevelopment #cpd #keynote —————————————————————————————— ✨I am Sam Stimpson.
