It’s always a joy to connect with fellow neurodivergent creators and even more so in a supportive space. Thanks to PRS for Music M Magazine editor Paul Nichols I got to do both for Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025. Thanks to the amazingly generous and ever-honest souls that are Mollie Coddled, SK Shlomo, NikNak, Sinead Campbell and Gavin Higgins. For my fellow creative ND tribe and for our ND allies. If you can see it you can be it, if you can see it you can understand it. https://lnkd.in/efyVdjUx

  • Celebrating Michelle Escoffery - an inspiring leader whose dedication and impact as President of the PRS Members’ Council will leave a lasting legacy. Michelle Escoffery, the inaugural President, played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of this important role. During Michelle’s tenure, she developed many successful new initiatives engaged over 2,000 members on their priorities and challenges, from education, rights and income protection and new growth opportunities for emerging talent. She was instrumental in the launch of PRS Members’ Days, held in different cities across the UK, which have become key platforms for learning and exchange, bringing the music creator community and PRS leaders together. PRS Connects, launched in 2023, offered members a more focused space to connect with industry experts and find ways to forge sustainable careers. Before Michelle hosted PRS Connects last night, we surprised her with a few special messages reflecting on her time as President of the PRS Members' Council. With thanks to Andrea Czapary Martin, ICD.D, Crispin Hunt, Joe Frankland, Jacqueline Pelham-Leigh, Maegan Cottone, Stephanie Haughton-Campbell, Janeace (Known as Jay T) Thompson Chartered FCIPD and Osiki Escoffery-Ojo. Thank you for everything Michelle.

  • As we continue to campaign for a fair AI ecosystem that protects the value of human creativity, we stand united with the creative sectors to support the #MakeItFair campaign. Crispin Hunt, President of the PRS Members’ Council, and multi-platinum selling songwriter, said: “This is a pivotal moment. Creators are by no means anti-AI, but we cannot sit by while big tech companies attempt to tear apart the copyright protections that underpin our livelihoods, purely to maximise their profit margins. It is crucial to get this right, not only for the UK economy, but for the next generation of British songwriters, filmmakers, and artists.” Björn Ulvaeus, ABBA co-founder, singer songwriter and President of CISAC, the global confederation representing over 5 million creators and songwriters: “There is no way we can or should stand against AI. I am using AI models myself, and these are wonderful tools that can enhance creativity. But this progress must never come at the expense of creators’ rights. And this is not just an ethical issue, it’s economic good sense because the whole concept of copyright has immense impact on culture, jobs and the economy. We can’t let that be watered down by poor regulation of AI”. • Simon May is the composer behind the BBC EastEnders theme tune, he came along to share his story about creating it to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the soap. When he suggested an impromptu rendition on our piano, of course we said yes. The team around the office certainly enjoyed it.
