INOV8 athlete Andy Fior-Berry put down a marker for the year ahead with a brilliant top-10 finish at the Transgrancanaria Ultramarathon. Kicking of his season on the demanding 126km 'Classic' route - which includes almost 7,000m of elevation gain along the mountainous spine of Gran Canaria - Andy battled his way through a stellar field of runners to finish 9th in 14hrs 32mins. He said: "It was an eventful race full of both great running and some silly mistakes. Things are never going to go 100% to plan but it's how you react in those moments that will determine how good a day you have. "It's a beautiful island and a great way to explore it. I'm really pleased to put a marker down for the year ahead." Fellow INOV8 athlete Kat Townshend tackled the Transgrancanaria Half - a 21km route with 1,300 metres of elevation gain exploring the south face of the Spanish island. She finished in 2hrs 29mins for 15th female and 2nd FV40. Kat said: "The hills were tougher than I'd anticipated; each incline tested my determination while the breathtaking views kept me motivated.
