💡 Our Investor Strategies Programme Director Mahesh Roy spoke in the first of a series of interviews from Net Zero Investor on stewardship in private markets and we're grateful for the opportunity to share our research. 📣 Mahesh outlined how stewardship and engagement strategies can be employed and how investors can appropriately use their influence to encourage decarbonisation down to the portfolio company level. 📝 We lay out our recommendations for the private equity and private debt asset classes as part of our Net Zero Investment Framework (NZIF) 2.0. "Private market investors have the money, capacity, technical knowledge, and most importantly, agility, to be owners that engage meaningfully with companies on decarbonisation. The integration of climate change considerations into investment strategies and processes is crucial for both value creation and risk management in a world in transition. So, when investors exit private markets investments, the portfolio companies they have worked with will be better aligned with the changing world in which they operate."
