About us
Integrating Finance and Biodiversity for a Nature Positive Future is a £7 million programme co-led by NERC and Innovate UK to develop the solutions needed to embed the values of biodiversity in financial decision making. This investment will build a national multi-stakeholder community that can drive the development of knowledge, tools and skills to incorporate biodiversity-related risks and opportunities into planning, reporting and investment decisions for the finance and business sectors. Phase II funding was announced in March 2024. Our vision is to build national capability bridging scientific, finance, policy and third sector communities, harnessing and catalysing world-leading science to enable the greening of finance for nature, and mobilisation of capital for nature recovery.

The forthcoming SME Green Horizons Symposium led by IFB Partner, Professor Robyn Owen (Baldock) of Middlesex University, focuses on finance for nature-friendly SME ventures. The event is open to academics and industry professionals alike. The conference starts by looking at the funding challenges faced by cleantech and nature tech startups in the UK. One solution is creating accelerators that are tailored to the specific needs of these startups based on their sector and stage. These accelerators bring together different stakeholders to tackle issues around business, markets, and funding. The MDX NP Accelerator is leading edge and will be discussed as a prototype potential solution to early stage innovative nature tech financing. https://lnkd.in/dPGfUrbj #infinbio #biodiversity #finance #biodiversityfinance #cleantech #naturetech #naturefriendly
