Without the contributions of our staff team across the charity, none of the impactful work we do at our centres would be possible. This is why each year we conduct an Employee Engagement Survey, to find out more about how staff are feeling within the charity. This open feedback helps us get a fuller picture of the staff experience and makes IntoUniversity more inclusive. Watch here for some highlights 🔽 A huge thank you to all of our staff for all that they do to make IntoUniversity a great place to work! #IUCommunities #IntoUniversity #Diversity #Inclusion

We were excited to host Clive Lewis, MP for Norwich South, at our Norwich centre, which we run in partnership with University of East Anglia. The visit was during a Creative Arts FOCUS Week with Valley Primary Academy. He spoke to the young people about their aspirations and shared his pathway to studying Economics at the University of Bradford during their Aspiration Leaf workshop, and spoke about how he wished that he had access to IntoUniveristy programmes when he was younger as it would have helped him make decisions about his future plans. Year 6 students were also able to ask Clive Lewis questions about his role as an MP, student finance and jobs in the future. Many young people shared their aspirations, some hoping to study Medicine, Engineering and Fashion! #IUImpact #IUCommunities #IntoUniversity #Norwich

Along with over 120 leading education organisations, we have signed this open letter to the Chancellor to advocate for children and young people from low-income households during the current Government Spending Review process. As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we are calling on the government to: 🔴 Understand how to better meet a range of rapidly rising special educational needs 🔴 Target funding to mitigate the impacts of child poverty on education 🔴 Invest in data to help us understand the holistic experiences of young people 🔴 Fund programmes that support services to work together for families in their communities Find out more here▶️ https://lnkd.in/evvsWKCg
🙌 Over 120 leading organisations in the education sector, have signed our open letter to the Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves. Together, we are advocating for children and young people from low-income households during the current Government Spending Review process. With the news that the UK will be increasing defence spending, and a squeeze on departmental budgets, the Chancellor has earmarked several billion pounds in draft spending cuts to welfare and other government departments ahead of the Spring Statement. ✍ Our shared vision for a fair education system can only be realised by stabilising school budgets, enhancing collaboration across services, and ensuring targeted funding reaches those who need it most at every stage of education. ✉️ Read the full open letter and our asks for government here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ecvqKJra

This year marks 10 years of IntoUniversity in Leeds🥳 IntoUniversity centres support young people from the least privileged neighbourhoods across the UK to learn, explore and succeed. Leeds has partnered with IntoUniversity for the past decade, with many students mentoring local pupils and helping to make higher education more accessible for children 🎓 Over the ten years, more than 14,000 young people have been supported, with 62% of IntoUniversity Leeds students progressing on to Higher Education.
