Invest Glasgow is Glasgow City Council's investment promotion team. We offer comprehensive business support and guidance, providing one point of contact to all businesses, property investors, or developers investing, setting up or expanding in the city. We are dedicated to encouraging and assisting investment while promoting the Glasgow metropolitan area as one of the most investor and business-friendly locations in the UK and Europe. Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and the fourth largest in the UK. Glasgow offers vast potential for businesses: quality and loyalty of the flexible and qualified workforce, the cosmopolitan feel of a large city, great access and digital connectivity, cost-effective office space, proximity to market and customers, as well as the ease of doing business.     📣 Glasgow ranks among the world’s top financial centres. 📈 Glasgow Climbs Global Financial Centres Index The Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) provides an evaluation of competitiveness and rankings for the major financial centres around the world. This report ranks 121 cities and is released biannually in September and March. It ranks Glasgow alongside some of the world’s top performing cities: Glasgow ranks 37th globally and 12th in Western Europe. The city is making consistent and steady progress; one year ago, in September 2023, Glasgow ranked 51st and 21st.     Glasgow City Council in partnership with the University of Strathclyde are offering SMEs in Glasgow a free, no-obligation Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Carbon Baseline as part of the new Extend Plus Programme. With energy costs on the rise, this programme seeks to support businesses in becoming more energy-efficient and climate resilient, whilst contributing to Glasgow’s goal of achieving Net Zero. 🌍 In addition to helping businesses better understand their emission status, completing the GHG Carbon Baseline allows the Extend Plus team to offer recommendations for future cost and CO2 savings.
