Both Osian, Richard and the T1 have safely made it to Ocean Energy Europe in Aviemore, where we will be hanging around at the Marine Energy Wales Stand. Unfortunately Diane got delayed by fog at Nantes, but she will arrive this morning in time to give her presentation tomorrow, updating the amazing progress Inyanga have made, including our technical advancements and project updates from Anglesey Morlais, Indonesia and Phillipines. Diane will also update on our recent takeover of the Sabella D10 and her amazing efforts to keep this iconic turbine operational. The D10 is currently providing green electrons to the island community at Ushant Island. Richard will be involved in a panel discussion this afternoon regarding direct drive versus gearbox, we will be arguing the case for direct drive. Both the T1 and the Sabella D10 are direct drive turbines and both have proven to be robust and reliable. Indeed the T1 has more running years than any tidal turbine ever produced, and is the inspiration for the design of our next generation commercial scale 600kw T3 turbine. We would be delighted to catch up during the event and explain more, so please come and see us at the Marine Energy Wales Stand.

T1 to OEE2024- Why on earth would we send a tidal turbine to a ski resort in the Scottish Highlands??? Well this isnt just any turbine, this is a T1 turbine that has seen 9 years of reliable operation and is full operationally and easily capable of doing another 9 years. The T1 will be on display at the Ocean Energy Europe 2024 Conference in Aviemore- https://lnkd.in/ecW3cmnU Diane, Osh and myself will also be coming along though we will have to take the train as there wasn't enough room on the back of the truck for us. Diane and myself will be presenting to provide updates on our developments, especially our progress at Morlais and our recent take-over of the Sabella D10 turbine is Isle De Ouessant! Many thanks to Neil and Warren for getting the turbine and all painted up and organising the logistics. We look forward to showing off our iconic T1 turbine and updating you all on the development of our latest high-tech T3 turbine. We would be delighted to catch up with any of you going along to the conference.

HydroWing set to develop the first tidal energy plant in Indonesia HydroWing has signed a binding agreement with one of PLN’s Subholdings to develop plans for the first tidal current power plant in Indonesia. The 10MW tidal energy project is planned to be located in East Nusa Tenggara in the Indonesian archipelago. HydroWing is the tidal energy division of Inyanga Marine Energy Group, based in the UK. PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) is the state-owned national power company in Indonesia and owns the national grid. This follows on from a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2022 whereby the two parties agreed to accelerate tidal energy in Indonesia through site identification, resource assessment and front-end engineering. The site at East Nusa Tenggara has now been selected following a thorough assessment of different tidal energy locations all over the country. Richard Parkinson, CEO of Inyanga Marine Energy Group, said: “Indonesia is seen as a prime market for our innovative tidal energy technology. Indonesia has amongst the best tidal potential in the world due to the throughflow of marine current from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean. There is also a funnel effect between the islands of the archipelago, which strengthens the tidal energy potential still further. This pilot project at East Nusa Tenggara will be pivotal for us and our local partners to move rapidly towards significant commercial scale projects in the Indonesia archipelago.” Jean-Christophe Allo, Commercial Manager at Inyanga Marine Energy Group, added: “This exciting new project builds on our success in South East Asia. Earlier this year, we were awarded the contract to build South East Asia’s first tidal energy plant at Capul in the Philippines and now we are thrilled to develop the first tidal energy plant in Indonesia at East Nusa Tenggara. This innovative project will contribute to the region’s transition to Net Zero, delivering energy security with affordable, 24/7 and renewable energy.” To develop the project at East Nusa Tenggara, the PLN Subholding will be responsible for activities including bathymetry, site survey, ADCP measurements and sediment samples as well as conducting interconnection impact studies. HydroWing will conduct a feasibility study, technology studies, project implementation schedules and O&M plans. The two parties will work jointly on the licensing process plan and conducting social and environmental studies.

Tocardo BV, and Inyanga Marine Energy Group , possibly the most commercially viable tidal projects in the world! New money invested into #renewables is not going to offshore wind with low risk and marginal returns, in my opinion clever money goes for tidal, higher risk but higher returns.
Inyanga Marine Energy GROUP has started a crowdfunding round giving the opportunity for investors to participate in our pioneering tidal energy tech. Tidal energy is the only predictable and perpetual renewable energy. Using the world's most proven and reliable turbines we are on course to power communities with clean and predictable energy using our 'Made In Britain' tidal technology.

it's great to be recognized for our work on promoting STEM and promoting enthusiasm for engineering subjects.
Congratulations / Llongyfarchiadau to the HydroWing Ltd team, who scooped the Innovation award at this year's Wales STEM Awards ceremony 🏆 It was also a fantastic night for Pembrokeshire's Destination Renewables programme, which won the STEM Educational Programme of the Year (private sector). Launched by DP Energy Group, EDF Renewables UK & Ireland, Pembrokeshire College and Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum two years ago, it gives 16-18 year olds real-world insight into working in renewables and is helping to forge closer relationships between education and industry 👏 The awards recognise individuals and organisations driving innovation and making significant contributions to the sector in Wales. Advanced Tidal Energy Device Completes Hydrodynamic Blade Testing >> https://hubs.la/Q02TWXxj0 Inyanga Marine Energy Group has successfully completed hydrodynamic testing of the Passive Pitch Unit for its patented HydroWing technology. The test results confirm that the cutting-edge blade rotor on HydroWing’s tidal energy device can automatically regulate its own pitch using its innovative, self-adjusting system. "With this new pitch regulation system, the blade rotors can now scale to twice the swept area, whilst ensuring safety and efficiency, even in the harshest ocean conditions." - Richard Parkinson, CEO of Inyanga Marine Energy Group. #energy #innovation #technology Inyanga Marine Energy Group
