Thank you to all the #ITSUK members, MPs and Peers that attended our annual Parliamentary Reception yesterday. It was fantastic to host more than 200 attendees to discuss the new Parliament’s priorities for intelligent mobility. We first heard from our Chief Executive, Max Sugarman, Newcastle-under-Lyme MP Adam Jogee, our hosting MP and Laurence Hilton of Mobius Networks Limited, who sponsored the event. We then welcomed Liberal Democrats Transport Spokesperson, Baroness Jenny Randerson, who spoke to the Liberal Democrat’s transport priorities and Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, Deputy Director Anthony Ferguson, who set out the Government’s vision for transport technology. We then turned to the launch of the ITS World Congress Birmingham 2027, where after words from ERTICO - ITS Europe CEO Joost VANTOMME and West Midlands Combined Authority Deputy Mayor, Sharon Thompson, we held the official signing ceremony to kick start the journey to the Congress! The World Congress is a fantastic opportunity and it was brilliant to start the firing gun with MPs and policy makers, from across the West Midlands and beyond, in the room. Following closing remarks from ITS UK Chair, Stuart Scott, we saw out the afternoon of networking with guests over a traditional cream tea 🫖. Thanks to all who joined us!
