On International Women’s Day 2025 let’s meet one of the key members of the J2R Demolition Limited team. We recently welcomed Olivia into the J2R team as office manager knowing from our first chat she had the key traits of a true J2R person. Approachable, friendly, willing and a great work ethic. As Olivia goes into her 3rd month with us, we asked her to summarise her time at J2R “Hi. I’m Olivia and that’s me on the right with one of our clients Mia Higginson from BECT Building Contractors Ltd (middle) and our Director Natasha (on the right). What I enjoy most about my job is the variety it brings. Even though I started just two months ago with no background in construction, I’ve already had the chance to learn so many new things. I’m grateful to be part of an amazing and supportive team that’s always willing to share their knowledge and expertise. Their support and teamwork have made a huge difference in my growth, and I feel like I’m gaining new skills every day. My decision to pursue a role in this industry was driven by the exciting opportunities it offers for growth and long-term development. I’ve always been interested in working in an environment that challenges me and allows me to continuously expand my knowledge and skills. I’d recommend this career to anyone because you’re constantly learning new skills. Every day brings something different, and there’s always room to grow and improve. It keeps things interesting, and the chance to pick up new knowledge makes the job even more rewarding. The industry is becoming more inclusive, and there’s space for everyone to succeed”. We have big week in construction which celebrates and promotes Women in Construction. Today we welcomed the visit of Mia Higginson of BECT Building Contractors Ltd to our premises. Mia has been working closely with the J2R Demolition Limited team at the Blue Dragon project in Cardiff Bay and has taken on the responsibility of the extensive heritage items that have been recovered/salvaged and stored for reintroduction into the project at build stage. Mia was welcomed by our Director Natasha and office manager Olivia. At J2R we celebrate women in construction every day …. Great to see you today Mia!

Our recent project in Cardiff Bay bringing the former Corys and Merchant Buildings back to life as a new educational facility. For our Managing Director Jonathan Williams this scheme has huge meaning having looked at the project 4 times in in 11 years before it finally come to fruition. What a great building this will be for the future generations. We’re thrilled to share one of our latest projects—a fast paced demolition that exemplifies the expertise, planning, and precision our team brings to every job, no matter what size. 📍 Project Location: Hawthorn High School, Pontypridd, South Wales 🏢 Site Details: Single and 2 storey clasp building along with 1900 original school for our valued client Kier Group 🛠️ Scope of Work: Licensed asbestos, soft strip and phased demolition of existing structures to make was for the new landscape areas to the newly built high school. ✅ Key Achievements: Delivered in live school environment Efficient waste management and achieving recycling percentage of over 99% Delivered 3 weeks inside target programme. Final account settlement prior to project completion.
