The Garnica Poplar Plywood range is available exclusively in the UK and Ireland from James Latham. It’s lightweight, yet strong and dimensionally stable, and ideal for applications where weight is a factor such as furniture, mobile homes, exhibitions, boats, transit vans and garden rooms. As well as their standard and fine finished ranges, Garnica also offer advanced performance plywoods such as Fireshield, which gives a Euroclass B fire rating with FR properties remaining intact even when the panel is cut or machined. For external grade plywood, look no further than Duraply - an external grade plywood and supersedes what used to be called marine ply. It has a 15-year delamination guarantee, which allows you to cut it, machine it and screw into it without affecting the qualities of the panel. For strength, Garnica’s Maple faced reinforced plywood offers exceptional stability and is a perfect alternative to Russian Birch ply. Valchromat is an evolutionary MDF product, perfect for creative joinery and interior projects. Available in eleven colours, it's coloured throughout using organic dyes, therefore can be worked in three dimensions. This gives designers total freedom to imagine their projects, ranging from kitchen to bedroom furniture, to wall cladding, acoustic panels, staircases, shopfitting, exhibition stands and more. The additional density not only produces clean, crisp edges when machined, but also makes it around 30% stronger than regular MDF. All of the dyes are organic, it's non-toxic, has full certification, and scores very well on our Carbon Calculator platform making it a very responsible product to use. We have a facility dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive samples as quickly as possible. As well as requests direct from our sales teams for their customers, our website, digital showroom and cladding visualiser platforms offer a sample request option – with requests usually arriving within 48 hours. During the last year we’ve sent out almost 10,000 samples – including veneers, melamines, laminates, MDF, cladding, Buffalo® board and timber. That’s a lot of samples! As 2025 gets underway, here’s a quick reminder…. In 2024 we introduced four new decorative ranges to our portfolio – Merinolam UK and Cleaf ( both exclusive to us in the UK), Fundermax and SWISS KRONO AG - plus the refreshed EGGER Group 24+ collection. Our specialist cladding and mouldings division got a makeover and is now Latham Timber Manufacturing – your go-to place for a huge range of timber cladding, mouldings and carvings. We also brought our depots in Dublin and Belfast into the Latham brand family. We updated our Decorative Products Guide and created a brand new Timber Guide – both free to download from our website. We launched our Cladding Visualiser – a fantastic and free to use online tool to help you choose the perfect cladding for your project. Our Hemel Hempstead showroom – packed full of displays and samples for our decorative panel ranges – opened its doors to trade customers and their clients (booking essential). We hosted the EGGER roadshow at depots across the UK and Ireland and stocked our warehouses full of every décor in the 24+ range ready to go.
