Double Delivery for the ‘Outstanding’ EKC Group. 🙌🏻👏🏻 Following hot on the heels of our recent contract award to deliver the Margate Digital Hub, Jenner are delighted to have secured a second contract on behalf of longstanding client, leading educational provider EKC Group, this time to expand theirexisting facilities in Sheerness at EKC Sheppey College. This second project forms part of Swale Borough Council’s wider Sheerness Revival; - a £20 million regeneration project, funded by the UK Government which aims to improve the health, leisure, education and employment opportunities on the Isle of Sheppey through delivery of three major capital projects. 😄 Appointed as the preferred contractor following an open, competitive tender process Jenner are now live on site to design and build a 2-storey education building at their Sheppey campus which will link to the existing college block to provide essential new teaching areas and a bespoke IT workshop. The 900 square meters of new learning space will not only accommodate more students butwill allow the College to offer a wider range of courses focused on supporting the creative, engineering, and logistics sectors. 🧑🎓🤗 The steel-framed building with its urbanised aesthetic of exposed build features is designed by LE P who will work with Jenner to deliver both the facilities here at Sheppey and those in Margate as well as the Dover Beacon ‘Bench Building’ where EKC Group are engaged as an end-user. 🙌🏻 This project is funded by UK Government. We’re excited to transforming a long-term empty retail space in the heart of Margate High Street into the Margate Digital Hub for EKC Group, in partnership with Thanet District Council! 🌟 Thanks to a successful bid to the MHCLG (formerly the Levelling Up Fund), this 2000+ sqm facility will offer state-of-the-art digital and creative spaces for over 300 students, featuring everything from specialized labs and studios to co-working areas and breakout zones. 📚🧑🎓   The campus will provide courses in Animation, Architecture, Graphics, Marketing, TV/Film, and more, with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world experience. Meet the team: Rosie - Joinery Apprentice 🪵🪚 Having joined us back in September, Level 2 Bench Joinery student Rosie is enjoying life as part of the PFJ team and learning lots from those around her. She was originally inspired into the trade by her brother who is a Carpenter and would always show her what he was building and take her onto his jobs. She was hooked! 😁 After studying a Level 2 in Carpentry and gaining some first-hand experience of joinery she loved how precise it was and decided to pursue this trade for her future career, gaining the Apprenticeship with PFJ after meeting with Jenner HR Manager Emily Barnes at a Careers Day. 📚🛠️ Fun Fact: Rosie was the former Student President of Folkestone College with a 100% attendance record! Montpelier’s completion officially marked by the Lord Mayor. 🙌🏻😁   Earlier this month, Jenner were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Canterbury and her Lady Mayoress to officially open 28 affordable new homes in Montpelier Avenue Whitstable, built on behalf of longstanding client, Moat ; - a leading housing association. Their aim is to provide the homes and services that best meet local needs, enabling people to build their lives, put down roots and thrive in their communities,  which is exactly what has been achieved here. 👏🏻   The development provides essential new homes to those on the Council’s housing waiting list and offers those currently in temporary accommodation a quality new home for life. Delivering 4no. family townhouses and 24no. 2-bedroomed apartments the construction of the new homes, which curve to maximise the corner-site with plenty of off-road parking for its residents at the rear, has significantly transformed a redundant site of a former single large family home that had fallen into a state of poor repair in the much sought-after seaside town of Whitstable (Kent). 🏠✨   Designed by local architectural practice OSG ARCHITECTURE LTD , careful consideration was given to the project’s external appearance to ensure a high-quality visual that is wholly in keeping with neighbouring properties and gives the top floor apartments unrivalled views over the Thames Estuary. The homes are delivered to a very high standard with technologies incorporated into their design and construction to ensure the homes are thermally efficient in their operation, keeping running costs down for their residents and are futureproofed with non-gas heating systems and the installation of EV charging points.
