As part of the school’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Week, we delivered tailored teaching sessions for each year group, covering key aspects of construction. This included site safety, the progress of their own school build, and an introduction to the wide range of careers available in our industry. The children were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and making meaningful connections between their classroom learning and real-world applications. A highlight of the day was taking pupils on a supervised tour of the construction site. Wearing hi-vis vests and hard hats, the children had a unique opportunity to see their new classrooms taking shape. Being able to meet the site managers and see the construction work was a great experience, and it certainly helped pupils understand the complexity and the excellent teamwork involved in successfully delivering a project of this scale. #Kent #construction #Kentconstruction #buildingfutures #loveconstruction #socialvalue #schoolsoutreach #constructionintheclassroom #STEM #STEAM

The event was extremely well attended, with young people from several Thanet schools exploring the wide range of career opportunities available to them. As a prominent local business and with four construction sites currently underway in Thanet as part of our work for Thanet District Council to deliver new affordable homes in Margate and Ramsgate, this was a great opportunity for us to engage with local students. With our stand highlighting the various Apprenticeships available within WW Martin as part of our Employment Apprenticeship Training Programme (EATP), we had a busy day. We were particularly pleased to see so many students interested in construction and were equally pleased to take the time to answer their questions and showcase the many different careers available in our industry. Thank you to The Education People, organisers of the Thanet Apprenticeship Fair, for putting together such a successful event and allowing us to help support young people take their first steps towards their future careers. #NAW2025 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #BuildingCareers #FutureTalent #WWMartinApprenticeships

We were very pleased to be invited to participate in the recent Thanet Skills360 event, where we engaged with inspiring young people from four Thanet SEND schools and colleges. The excellent event is designed to help support young people, aged 16-20, who are busy developing their functional skills, GCSEs, employability skills, and vocational pathways, preparing for their next steps into mainstream college, supported internships, or employment. Spending the day with these talented young people was an amazing experience. Their confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm were truly inspiring, as they turned the tables on us and many other local employers by interviewing us all on various jobs and roles. The event provided a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the strengths and potential of young people with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or an EHCP. We highly recommend the event which is organised by David Fretton of the Kent & Medway Careers Hub and introduced by Emily Hollis MBE MUniv FCCT, Director of The Hive at Foreland Fields School - an inclusive facility we have been proud to support through various fundraising and volunteering initiatives in recent years. If your business is looking to expand diversity in your workforce, please take a look at Skills360 and register to receive more information here: https://lnkd.in/eBK-y4dH A huge thank you to the organisers, staff, and, most importantly, the amazing young people from Laleham Gap School, Foreland Fields School, Liberty Training, and Stone Bay School who took part.

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending The Whitstable School’s Careers Fair - an incredibly well-attended event with over 1,000 young people exploring career opportunities. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with students, answer their questions about the construction industry, and share insights into the wide range of careers available within our sector. We were able to discuss the apprenticeship opportunities currently available through our own Education, Apprenticeship & Training Programme. These roles provide hands-on experience, professional development, and a clear pathway into a rewarding career in construction. We were delighted to see such enthusiasm from young people keen to learn more about WW Martin and the many opportunities we offer. Full details of our apprenticeship vacancies can be found on our website https://lnkd.in/evTuGMfm We would like to thank The Whitstable School for hosting such a successful event and look forward to continuing our engagement with students to inspire the next generation of construction professionals. #CareersinConstruction #BuildingFutures #Kent #Construction #EATP #Apprenticeships #SchoolLiaison #SocialValue

We are proud to be sponsoring the East Kent Apprenticeship Awards (EKAA) 2025, in partnership with East Kent Colleges Group. Having supported this event last year at The Yarrow Hotel, Broadstairs, we saw first-hand the talent and dedication of apprentices across East Kent. It was an inspiring occasion, showcasing the diverse range of apprenticeship opportunities available and the significant contributions apprentices make to their industries. As a business, we remain fully dedicated to supporting apprenticeships, with many of our own staff having progressed through this route. Through our own Employment, Apprenticeship, and Training Programme, we continue to invest in the development of the next generation of skilled professionals. The recognition of our own Daniel Fox as Construction Apprentice of the Year, and our HR Manager and Social Value Champion Angela Gardiner Assoc CIPD as Apprenticeship Champion of the Year in 2023 reaffirmed the importance of celebrating these achievements. We look forward to joining this year’s nominees, finalists, and winners in recognising excellence in apprenticeships and the vital role they play in shaping the future workforce. #EastKentApprenticeshipAwards #EKAA #InvestingInTheFuture #Apprenticeships #BuildingCareers #Kent #EastKent #Kentconstruction #loveconstruction

Significant progress is also being made inside the building, with dry lining and ceiling works advancing, fire doors being installed, and decoration continuing throughout the ground floor.
