As a cornerstone of the local community for over 140 years, the club has nurtured a love for rugby across generations, and this year, they celebrate the 50th anniversary of their M & J section. We had a fantastic time yesterday at Procurex Scotland with our colleagues from George Boyd! It was great connecting with both new and familiar faces, sharing how our innovative solutions can support housing providers in Scotland. We were also excited to introduce our new AVAIL Housing Hub, launching soon in Aberdeen! We're excited to announce we’ve opened a new managed store with ateb Group in Haverfordwest. Previously, ateb operatives had to source materials from multiple suppliers, but this new facility will simplify the process by providing all essential materials in one location. This will enable ateb’s teams to efficiently carry out repairs and maintenance for homes across West Wales. We're excited to share the success of our first ever 'Deliver More, Together' conference where our JPS and George Boyd brands came together alongside nearly 30 of our key supplier partners. The morning saw us discuss how we can continue to understand more about the challenges facing our customers and how we can support them with our unique solutions. In the afternoon, we then hosted a supplier expo and workshop to allow our colleagues to better understand how product innovations in the market will help our customers overcome some of these challenges. We capped off the evening with our celebration event and awards ceremony. A huge thank you to all our partners and colleagues for making this event such a success and we're excited to keep pushing boundaries to help Deliver More for our customers.

This Thursday, we're supporting Band of Builders with their Big Brew event at four of our stores. This annual campaign encourages UK construction workers, tradespeople and operatives to come together to support one another over a brew, improving awareness of mental health issues and educating on ways to seek help. We recently welcomed the 2024 Gentoo Group apprentices to our stores in Sunderland as part of their induction city tour. Supported by some of our suppliers, the apprentices took a tour of our stores, gained more understanding about the products we offer and the service we provide to the Gentoo Operatives. We love being a part of this tour, thanks for stopping by!

Against the wonderful backdrop of Bamburgh Castle, our team recently partnered with Northumberland County Council and the Northumberland Coast National Landscape for a beach clean and conservation day. We were joined by fantastic volunteers from JTC Furniture Group and Tobermore, coming together to not only clean the beach but also conduct a 100m environmental survey and remove invasive Perri Perri plants from the dunes. Pirri Pirri is a plant originating from New Zealand and this invasive species threatens flower and insect diversity in the dunes. The plant starts to cause problems from mid-summer, because the spiky seeds cling onto footwear, clothes and dogs. In turn, they become spread around the countryside and everywhere Pirri Pirri grows, it forces native plants out. The removal of Pirri Pirri burrs is a vital conversation job for the habitat. This was more than just a day out of the office. As JPS, we believe that environmental responsibility isn't just a buzzword, it's part of our commitment to the communities we serve and by coming together, we’re doing our part to help contribute to a cleaner planet.

We know how important it is to have spaces where residents can spend time outside and with each other. That's why we were delighted to support LiveWest enhance accessibility to a community greenhouse, enabling an over-55s community to enjoy growing their own fruit and vegetables. The LiveWest Community Connector for the area said; “It’s great to see how the improved accessibility to the community greenhouse has increased the number of residents spending more time outside. It’s wonderful that more of our residents are learning how to grow their own fruit and vegetables and sharing them with others.”
